Ce sont des déambulations nocturnes dans des usines désaffectées de pays de l'Est d'où émanaient des réminiscences de musiques techno dans un décor de street art qui ont donné naissance à l'univers de cette pièce. On y retrouve, stylisées, des pulsations obstinées et synthétiques, des nappes de textures plus linéaires, des sons à l'envers qui s'entrechoquent dans l'espace sonore, des motifs répétitifs aux métriques différentes superposées. Dans une seconde partie de l'?uvre, ce climat se dissipe pour laisser place à une sorte de ballade désenchantée dont la guitare égraine les notes avec simplicité et nonchalance sur un cantus de basse lent et profond ... À plusieurs reprises la guitare semble vouloir s'échapper de cette ambiance et impose des parties rythmiquement plus contrastées jusqu'à un dernier retour, cette fois plus lyrique, de mélodie initiale. Après une brève cadence plus évanescente, un moteur rythmique se remet en marche très progressivement et emmène la pièce vers un final où se mêlent les univers des deux parties précédentes. Karl Kohaut (1726 - 1784) was an Austrian lutenist and composer of Czech descent considered to be one of the last important composers of music for Baroque lute. Although also a violinist active in the Viennese music scene he was most well-known as a lutenist. He composed a total of seven lute concertos during his lifetime including this Concerto in F Major No. 2 (not to be confused with his Concerto in F Major No. 1 which is considered the most popular) in three movements: Allegro moderato Andante molto and Tempo di Minuetto. In this edition Victor Van Puijenbroeck has created a piano reduction of the orchestral score and also has adapted the lute part to be played onguitar. Included are parts for both lute (the part has been adapted from lute tablature to modern notation) and guitar (capotasto).
