Arranged for female choir (SMA)-The choral scene is in a state of change! On the one hand more and more choirs are lacking in male voices yet at the same time more and more female choirs are looking for high-quality literature beyond folksong arrangements. Bärenreiter is responding to these general trends with the publication of arrangements for three-part female choir (SMA) of well-known frequently-performed works. The first editions to be published are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart?s ?Coronation Mass? K. 317 (BA 5691) a much-performed work within the standard repertoire and the ?Missa brevis in D major? K. 194 (BA 5690-90) a charming alternative for use in church services. With great skill andsensitivity to the music Heribert Breuer has carefully retained the substance of the original works at the same time giving them a completely new sound quality.- Arrangements for female choir (SMA) based on the Urtext of the ?New Mozart Edition?- Idiomatic piano reductionsThe arrangerHeribert Breuer was professor of choral conducting and music theory at the Berlin University of the Arts until 2010. He is founder and director of the Berlin Bach Akademie and has made a name for himself with his numerous arrangements of works from Bach to Schubert.

Chorale Setting-First Urtext edition based on Georg Philipp Telemann Musical Works. An attractive addition to the repertoire with a view to the Telemann Year 2017.Bilingual Foreword (Ger/Eng).Uncluttered idiomatic Piano reduction.Full score and parts (BA5897) and vocal score (BA5897-90) available for sale.Chorale settings form a central part of Telemann?s ?uvre. His 1754 setting of the church hymn Christus Der Ist Mein Leben based on Melchoir Vulpius? melody from the Hamburg Hymnal is especially well-suited to display his mastery in depicting the words of the chorale. The so-called ?Ausfüllungsbass? (a vocal bass added tothe principal bass in tutti passages) was probably necessitated by the acoustical properties of Hamburg?s churches. This is the first Urtext edition of this highly successful chorale setting which is based on Georg Philipp Telemann Musical Works. The score contains a realisation of the continuo part.

(+)
Par BRUCKNER ANTON. Bruckner?s mighty Mass in F minor is one of his most significant creations and one of the great 19th-century choral works. The composer uniquely succeeds in exploring faith through the lens of music. In doing so, he ventures into extreme forms of expression, which caused some disgruntlement among the musicians at rehearsals for the premiere in November 1868. In subsequent years, however, the work has gradually become more accepted, and today presents a highly appealing challenge to advanced choirs. The Carus edition presents the Mass in F minor as the final 1893 version based on the autograph and the surviving copies from the copyist. As an Urtext edition it follows the latest scholarly standards ready for the Bruckner anniversary year in 2024! / Date parution : 2023-06-01/ Répertoire / Solistes [SATB], Double Choir et Piano

Klavierauszug-Antonio Vivaldi's Magnificat in G minor for SATB and Piano. The office as a priest and the long years as musical director of the Ospedale della Piet (a large orphonage in Venice) both occasioned and inspired him to compose church music in large variety. The Magnificat RV 160 has come down to us in two versions. The first version is dominated by the choral concept in the second version the texts of Et exultavit Quia respexit Quia fecit Esurientes and Sicut locutus est are each given new and extended solo arias that as the manuscripts reveals were tailored to voices of girls from the Ospedale who are mentioned by name in the autograph.

The Mass In C Major was completed and premiered in 1807 and has been unjustly described as a preliminary step towards the great Missa solemnis. Yet it is a self-contained and for its time distinctly modernpiece of sacred music.Beethoven specialist Barry Cooper has drawn on a rich body of sources to suggests practical solutions to the work’s musical and interpretative problems. His in-depth study of the sources convinced him to include a fully realised Organ part in the score just as Beethoven envisioned it for the first printed edition. As stated in the original sources the parts for the soloists and choir are notated on joint staves to demonstrate that the soloists are also to sing the choral passages. This Barenreiter Urtext edition is rounded off with a foreword on the work’s genesis and a detailed critical commentary.

Par ZELENKA JAN DISMAS. The Missa Omnium Sanctorum ZWV 21 is Zelenka?s last mass setting. It contains three extended arias (one each for soprano, alto and tenor), concertante choruses and unusually expressive choral fugues. Especially powerful in effect is the through-composed Credo in this mass, with a ritornello that is one of Zelenka?s most beautiful inspirations. The score and parts material of this new edition are based on the corresponding volume of the ?Das Erbe deutscher Musik? series, from which Breitkopf

(+)
Handel wrote the famous Dixit Dominus with the text of Psalm 109 during his time in Italy in c. 1707. Although he was only 22 years old the work already demonstrates his wide spectrum of compositional abilities which are later fully realized in his operas and oratorios. Central to this work are the six choral movements which with their polyphonic structure are closely related to German choral music of the 17th century. The first Urtext edition BA 4002 based on the Halle Handel Edition was published in 1960. At that time no critical commentary was published so that in cases of doubt the basis on which editorialdecisions were made was not officially recorded. A new complete edition volume (BA 10704/01) due to be published in 2013 will include a detailed foreword providing information on the genesis and the first performance of this work as well as information on the psalm on which this work is based and on performance practice. In addition several facsimiles pages will be included giving a view into the source material. The critical commentary will provide a detailed insight into all the available sources and how they have been passed down. This newly revised Urtext performing edition offers a thorough revision of this frequently-performed work and meets all the requisites of a scholarly-critical edition. Former readings in the old edition regarding a small number of pitches but mostly basso continuo figures and the underlying text have now been able to be amended on the basis of the new findings. In the new edition the work appears in nine movements no longer eight which reflects the composer's intentions. The new performance material is not compatible with the old one.Presented in a revised Urtext editionClear straightforward Piano reduction in the vocal scoreUrtext of the Halle Handel EditionFull score performance material (BA10704) & Vocal score (BA10704-90) available for sale

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy completed his first oratorio St. Paul Op.36 in 1836 at the age of twenty-seven. The first version which was premiered on 22 May 1836 was then extensively revised by the composer. This second version which at the same time served as the basis for the published version was premiered as early as October that year in Birmingham. The acclaim with which the oratorio was received was exceptional. Within eighteen months of completing the score Mendelssohn was able to list fifty performances of the work. Robert Schumann praised the work effusively and even Richard Wagner who later denigrated Mendelssohn was full of admiration. Today St. Paul belongs to the core repertoire of sacred choral music. This Urtext edition of the oratorio edited by the internationally-recognised Mendelssohn scholar Michael Cooper is based on all critical sources. As well as the principal version of the work the score also includes for the first time numbers which were composed for the first version and subsequently removed. This gives not only an insight into the history of the composition of the work but also with the complete performing material into the performance of the original version. The full score and vocal score (BA9071-90) include the German and English texts of the oratorio. The vocal score is by Mendelssohn.Urtext edition representing the latest musicological researchIncludes all numbers from the original version for the first timeVocal texts in German and EnglishStraightforward Piano reduction

Par BRUCKNER ANTON. Anton Bruckner's Te Deum - a high point in the composer's output and one of the most important works of the sacred choral repertoire in the 19th century - is now available in a modern, scholarly edition. The Carus edition draws on both the two sources regarded as important, the autograph score and the first printed edition, with careful consideration given to variant readings. And so a music text has been prepared which reflects the composer's intentions as closely as possible. Great emphasis has been placed on a clear-to-read layout of the full score pages, as well as excellent legibility for the parts, which are available on sale. With current performance practice in mind, the clarinet parts are notated in B flat instead of A, corresponding with the first printed edition. The vocal score has been newly prepared to reflect current practical requirements. As an economical alternative, a chorus score is available. Bruckner's Te Deum is also available in carus music, the choir app. The app contains the music and a recording, as well as a coach to help with learning each choral part. In preparation: arrangement of the Te Deum for soli, choir, brass quintet and organ./ Répertoire / Choeur Mixte (SATB) et Piano

Missa Dei Patris in C major ZWV 19 Breitkopf Urtext edited by Paul Horn and Reinhold Kubik [solos, mix ch,orch] 70' solos: SATB ? choir: SATB ? 0.2.0.1. ? 0.0.0.0. ? str ? bc The Missa Dei Patris ZWV 19 was composed in 1740 and ranks among the later works of the Bohemian composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. It opens an incompletely transmitted cycle of six masses which the composer himself designated as Missae ultimae. The musical text of the present conductors score is based on that of Volume 93 of the Denkmäler edition Das Erbe deutscher Musik. The new piano-vocal score has been edited by the reputable expert Andreas Köhs. Zelenka's artistic personality, his biography and his compositional style are utterly distinctive. His style is highly experimental. Was Zelenka really one of the greatest composers of the 18th century, or only one of the most interesting? I think that he still has several surprises for us. (Schweizerische Musikzeitung) Zelenka's Masses - fine specimens of Baroque choral literature, some parts of which are set even more colorfully than in the corresponding compositions by Bach. BR-CPEB D 3 (Wq 240) - Oratorio. Par BACH CARL PHILIPP EMMANUEL. Of the three oratorios which Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach composed when he was music director in Hamburg, Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu is particularly intended to create splendor and effect with its use of magnificent-sounding trumpets and timpani. Bach liked this work very much and had it published in 1787, the year before his death. The following year the oratorio was performed by Mozart in Vienna. The text of the oratorio by Carl Wilhelm Ramler (1725?1798; better known as the poet of the frequently-set ?Der Tod Jesu?) covers the Easter story of the disciples at Emmaus and the doubting Thomas, up to the image of Jesus ascending to heaven. The score is published as Vol. IV,2 of the C.P.E. Bach Complete Edition, edited by the Packard Humanities Institute. Carus publishes the vocal score and choral score for this work. The full score and parts can also be obtained from Carus. / Date parution : 2023-03-11/ Répertoire / Soli [STB], SATB et Piano

Par BIZET GEORGES. As an acclaimed opera composer, Georges Bizet admitted that he had no real sensibility for sacred music. His Te Deum is nonetheless a truly fascinating and highly expressive work. From the majestic ?Te Deum laudamus?, to the skillful choral fugue of ?Fiat misericordia tua?, and the opening's powerful recapitulation, the composition shows no trace of the difficulties that beset the young Bizet by his own admission before he finally completed the work in 1858.In the extensive trilingual preface to this Urtext edition, editor Marc Rigaudière illuminates the circumstances surrounding the composition of the Te Deum, a work which occupies a singular position in Bizet?s ?uvre. The edition is based on the composer?s autograph score ? the work's only surviving source. For the first time, this work is available with all performance parts. / Date parution : 2023-06-01/ Répertoire / Solistes [ST], SATB et Piano
