Orchestra SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon, timpani, 2 violins, viola, cello, contrabass SKU: CA.2729305 Version for chamber orchestra. Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Edited by Joachim Linckelmann. Arranged by Joachim Linckelmann. Carus sheet music series: Great choral works in small scorings. Sacred vocal music, Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hymns in praise of the Virgin Mary. Choral Score. Composed 1876/1877. Op. 58. 36 pages. Duration 90 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 27.293/05. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2729305). ISBN 9790007181086. Text language: Latin. Antonin Dvorak's impressive Stabat Mater for soloists, chorus and orchestra is probably the best-known of the composer's sacred works. Some painful experiences - in 1875 his first daughter died, and in 1877 he lost two other children in quick succession - may have led to Dvorak's preoccupation with the suffering of the Mother of God, who stands weeping beneath the cross of her son. The music enters into the different moods of the liturgical texts with great sensitivity. Nine movements in slow to moderate tempi serve as a kind of Passion meditation, before the ecstasy of a vision of the resurrection wins the upper hand at the end of the tenth movement. With our newly-published arrangement for chamber orchestra (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon, timpani, and strings), smaller choirs now have the opportunity of performing this work without the choir being drowned out by a large-scale symphony orchestra. The symphonic character of the work is nevertheless preserved. This scoring offers an optimal balance between transparency and orchestral sound. All vocal parts (soloists and chorus) are identical with the original version. Vocal score and choral score can be used also together with the original version, which is in preparation. $11.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

| Te Deum for the Victory of Dettingen Soli, Mixted choir and accompaniment Soli, mixted choir, orchestra Carus Verlag

(Soli ATB, Coro SSATB, 2 Ob, Fg, 3 Tr, Timp, 2 Vl, Va, Bc) SKU: CA.5528345 Dettingen Te Deum. Composed by George Frideric Handel. Carus Choir Coach (audio only). Composed 1743. HWV 283. Duration 38 minutes. Carus Verlag #5528345. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.5528345). English/German. In keeping with the victorious mood, Handel often splits the chorus into five voices (with divided sopranos) for passages of pure homophony. When the choir declaim as one, the effect is of joyful celebration. To start each phrase on the right note, it is essential to be familiar with the orchestral interludes. The cantabile movements, such as No. 3, can be particularly tricky to perform: The vocal leaps in these demanding choral-soprano sections become much easier if you can hear the underlying harmonies while practicing. The same is true for No. 5.
The Carus Choir Coach offers choir singers the unique opportunity to study and learn their own, individual choral parts within the context of the sound of the entire choir and orchestra. For every vocal range a download containing each choir part is available. The Carus Choir Coach is based on recorded interpretations by renowned artists who have performed the work from carefully prepared Carus Urtext editions. Each choir part is presented in three different versions:
Original recording Coach: each part is accompanied by the piano, with the original recording sounding in the background Coach in slow mode: the tempo of the coach slows down to 70% of the original version â through this reduction passages can be learned more effectively. Performers: Dorothee Mields (soprano), Ulrike Andersen (alto), Mark Wilde (tenore), Chris Dixon (basso) â Alsfelder Vokalensemble, Concerto Polacco â Wolfgang Helbich. SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 recorders f1, 2 viola da gamba, basso continuo (+)
SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 recorders f1, 2 viola da gamba, basso continuo SKU: CA.3110611 Actus tragicus. Trauermusik. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Peter Thalheimer. Arranged by Paul Horn. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Actus Tragicus. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Mourning, death. Single Part, Viola da gamba 1. Composed 1707/1708. BWV 106. 4 pages. Duration 23 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.106/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3110611). ISBN 9790007207021. Key: F major. Language: German/English. The Actus tragicus or Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit BWV 106 remains one of Bach's best-known and most admired works, one which continues to resonate to this day - a work of genius such as even great masters seldom achieve (Alfred Durr). The cantata is one of the earliest known vocal works by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was written during his time at Muhlhausen, probably in 1707, when Bach took up the position of organist at the Divi Blasii Church. A possible occasion for its composition may have been the funeral of the mayor of Muhlhausen, Adolph Strecker. The short, slow Sonatina with two recorders, two gambas and continuo gets the listener into the mood of the character of the cantata. This instrumental combination is unique in Bach's vocal output, but could derive from a central German tradition. This new edition is a critical-practical edition which combines both the latest discoveries in Bach research with a detailed Critical Report as well as addressing current questions on performance practice. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3110600. $4.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

SATB choir, vocal soli, orchestra SKU: CA.2708400 Composed by Joseph Leopold Eybler. Edited by Armin Kircher. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition. Sacred vocal music, Masses, Latin. Full score. Composed 1835. 64 pages. Duration 22 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 27.084/00. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2708400). ISBN 9790007164652. Language: Latin. Mozart and Haydn greatly admired the church music of their friend, the composer and Vienna court Kapellmeister Joseph Eybler. With its lyrical-pastoral mood, his Missa Sancti Alberti contrasts with his large-scale mass settings; in structure, extent, and orchestration it recalls Franz Schubert's well-known Mass in G major. Apart from two solo quartets which can be performed by soloists from the choir) the chorus is the main carrier of the musical action; the concise setting of the mass text is mainly set homophonically. Starting with a basic string group, the orchestra can be expanded ad libitum by the addition of two oboes, two bassoons, two trumpets, and timpani, enabling the work to be presented in its masterly orchestration. $71.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
