Bohuslav Martin (1890-1959) was a prolific Czech composer, writing many large scale works. The composer moved to Paris in 1923 where he began experimenting in a variety of composition styles. His StringTrio was published in 1951.

Martin himself was a violinist and many of his experiments in composing for solo instruments and small ensembles saw him write for his own instrument and for the familiarstrings. String Trio is made up of two movements; 1) Allegro and 2) Poco moderato. With a typical performance lasting about 15 and a half minutes, the String Trio for Violin, Viola andCelloprovides advanced string players with an exciting, challenging and inspiring ensemble work, addressing a variety of musical features. Composer Jennah Vainio sees End Credits for string trio (2016) as a portrayal of a person's inner mind: It is a beautiful, tender and introvert snapshot of a moment, a journey into the thoughts of a person. The work can be visualized by a video edited by myself. It is filmed shot by my father on an 8-mm film during a train trip in Germany in 1972. My grandfather briefly appears on the film, at the time the same age as I am now. As human beings and parts of the nature we are a links in an endless continuum - the train tracks
reaching out to an eternity symbolise all this.
