Pieces typical of their era and suitable for auditions, public performance, competitions or examinations are ordered according to level of difficulty in three volumes. These Easy Concert Pieces also provide appealing additional material for use in trumpet lessons. All the pieces are recorded on the CD included with each book, both in full and playback versions (piano accompaniment). Volume 1 (ED 22555) contains very easy to easy pieces with a range up to written c?, with d? appearing as a short top note in just a few pieces. Simple and memorable rhythms, readily playable note sequences and patterns of articulation that can be mastered quickly and easily make this book ideal for beginners. Volume 2 contains easy to intermediate pieces with a range no higher than f?. Besides extending rhythmic scope and requiring a little more in terms of phrasing and articulation, these pieces will encourage further exploration of musical contrasts. Volume 3 is of medium difficulty and intended for players with a well-developed embouchure who can play notes up to written g?, though this note only appears as a short top note. Trumpet parts in both B flat and E flat simplified piano part and a free CD including piano backing tracks and orchestral performance extracts.Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) composed this concerto in 1803 for the keyed trumpet which had been developed by Anton Weidinger (1767-1852). Weidinger gave its first performance on New Year's Day 1804. Originally composed in the key of E it is more commonly played in Eb. The keyed trumpet was the first type of trumpet which could play chromatically but the invention was not a huge success: it suffered from a poor quality of sound. In the early 19th century the invention of the valve rendered the keyed trumpetobsolete.This edition is intended to be more user-friendly than the others currently available: there is a much easier (and dare I say more stylistic) piano accompaniment - any doubling of the solo part has been removed voicing simplified and my premise has been to imagine what it might have been before it was orchestrated rather than trying to cram in every last piece of orchestral detail.Suggested cuts in the piano part have been indicated giving a short introduction to each movement perfect for auditions recitals or exams. However the bar numbers still tally with the longer original versions which are included should they be required. The dynamics and articulation which I have added incorporate the weight of opinion in current editions and recordings offering more guidance than 'scholarly' editions without being overprescriptive.There is an appendix with suggested interpretation of trills and ornaments. Listening to as many different recordings as possible is the best way to assimilate good trills.The accompanying CD provides piano accompaniments and observes the suggested cuts. Level: Beginner The First Book of Classical Trumpet offers a selection of 100 melodies from classic repertoire, the result of Andrea Cappellari's many years of research and experience in music teaching. Finished in 1948 the Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra was composed by the French composer conductor and the 1927 winner of the Grand Prix de Rome Henri Tomasi (1901-1971) and lasts approximately 14 minutes. Dedicated to the Trumpeter Ludovic Vaillant soloist at the National Orchestra the Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra was premiered in Paris in 1949. The first part which lasts 7 minutes Allegro and Cadenza begins with a trumpet cadenza and a quiet snare drum background. The Nocturne follows as the second part of this Concerto and the Finale the shortest part of the concerto ends up with acheerful cartoon-music theme. Henri Tomasi also composed a variety of concerti for Alto Saxophone and for Trombone as well as some ballades.

In one movement this short lyrical piece reflects the pathos of the legend of Orpheus.Grade: 3
