Viola SKU: CA.3123213 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Ulrich Leisinger. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal; Carus sheet music series: Vocal scores XL. Viola. Innovative practice aids, Masses, Latin, Lent and Passiontide. Individual part. BWV 232. 24 pages. Duration 100 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.232/13. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3123213). ISBN 9790007211028. Language: Latin. Bach's B minor Mass is among the greatest and most ambitious works of all time. The various stages of composition of the Mass occupied the composer for over two decades: beginning with the Sanctus (1724), by way of the Missa of 1733, to the remaining movements of the Ordinary, which were composed during his last years. Thus the Mass, in its wealth of forms with arias, duets, as well as concertante and fugal choruses, displays the essence of Bach's skill and personal style. The greatest musical work of art of all times and all peoples (to quote the enthusiastic Hans Georg Nageli, who first edited the Mass in 1818) and one of the most demanding choral works in the repertoire is presented by Frieder Bernius, the Kammerchor Stuttgart and the Barockorchester Stuttgart in a stellar recording based on the principles of historical performance practice (Carus 83.211). ISBN 9790530110287. 8.5 x 11 in inches. Prelude and Fugue in C BWV is taken from the Eight Short Preludes and Fugues, a collection of works for keyboard that were most likely used as teaching pieces for beginners. There has been back and forth about the attribution of these works, but most scholars agree that they are by Bach, just simplified for his students. Matthew McCrady has beautifully arranged this 4-5 minute work for Brass Quintet and included parts in C and B-flat for the Trumpets. $25.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

SATB/SATB choir, 2 oboes, oboe d'amore, 3 trumpets, timpani, 2 violin, viola, basso continuo - Level 5 SKU: CA.3105064 Chorus for St. Michael's Day. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Reinhold Kubik. Arranged by Reinhold Kubik. German title: Nun Ist Das Heil Und Die Kraft (Kubik). Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Special days. Single Part, Cello/Double Bass. Composed circa 1740. BWV 50. 4 pages. Duration 5 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.050/64. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3105064). ISBN 9790007206291. Key: D major. Language: German/English. Composed in the late period, around 1740 A lively discussion about the choral movement Nun ist das Heil und die Kraft has been carried on, in which not only all previous assumptions have been called into question-including Bach's authorship-but also show how little we know about the history of this magnificent movement. Even though there is little to refute the 1982 presumption that the work was handed down in the form of an arrangement, the question remains open concerning the identity of the arranger, as well as the alleged form of the original design. Therefore it seemed appropriate to forego any attempts at reconstruction. Rather, for the present new edition the music has been critically examined and commented upon based on the surviving copy from Bach's circle. Orchestra Soli ATB, SATB Choir, Flute, 2 Oboes, (Violin), Strings, Organ SKU: CA.3110207 Cantata for the 10th Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Reinhold Kubik. Arranged by Paul Horn. This edition: paperbound. BWV 102. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas. Study score. Composed 1726. BWV 102. 84 pages. Duration 24 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.102/07. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3110207). ISBN 9790007047382. Key: G minor / c minor. Language: German/English. In 1726 Johann Sebastian Bach performed a series of cantatas by his Meiningen cousin Johann Ludwig, then continued this series with his own works, but remained faithful to the textual models used his cousin: a Meiningen cycle of texts by an unknown author from the early 18th century. All these texts share the characteristic of including two quotations from the bible: one from the Old Testament at the beginning, and another from the New Testament in the middle. These cantatas include Herr, deine Augen sehen nach dem Glauben BWV 102. The opening chorus in several sections is one of Bach's masterpieces of choral composition. The cantata is also one of those works on which Bach's later reputation was based: performances are documented from 1776 in Hamburg and in Berlin by Zelter's Sing-Akademie from 1813 onwards. In 1830 it was one of the very first cantatas by Bach to appear in print. Score available separately - see item CA.3110200. $14.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
