Cette oeuvre fut écrite pour la violoniste suisse Noëmi Schindler à partir du long solo présent dans Messe un jour ordinaire (1994).Elle en donna la création au Kongresshaus de Zurich en mai 1995 et dans sa version définitive au Festival Présence de Radio-France en février 1996.Fauve signifie tout autant une couleur située entre le jaune et le roux, un animal sauvage, qu'un mouvement de peinture ou l'idée du ' non apprivoisé '.Si tout au long du parcours, les pièces ne font pas référence avec l'une ou l'autre de ces définitions, il y a dans cette musique de toute évidence, une résonance implicite avec chacune d'entre elles.Des six pièces, la troisième et la quatrième reprennent thématiquement les éléments des deux premières. The libretto for Giuseppe Verdi's 'Rigoletto' was adapted by Francesco Maria Piave from Victor Hugo's play Le roi s'amuse which was so controversial it had been banned in Paris after one performance. It is still recognised as one of Verdi's finest scores. The opening of the final act contains two of the most famous pieces in all opera: the Duke's 'La donna e mobile' (which needs no introduction) and the famous quartet 'Bella figlia dell'amore ' in which each character is expressing a different emotion. This edition is in Italian with an English version by Ruth and Thomas Martin.

L'OEuvre lyrique de Vivaldi reste paradoxalement méconnue : l'extraordinaire succès rencontré par un petit nombre de concertos a éclipsé tout un pan de ses compositions, notamment les opéras, auxquels il consacra pourtant l'essentiel de sa carrière. De 1713 à 1741, Vivaldi donna le jour à une OEuvre colossale, préservée en grande partie à la bibliothèque de Turin : plus de 450 compositions manuscrites, pour la majorité autographes. Créé à Vérone en janvier 1732, pour l'inauguration du Teatro Filarmonico,cet opéra est tombé dans l'oubli, malgré la beauté et la virtuosité des arias. La redécouverte du manuscrit, conservé à la bibliothèque de Turin, a permis d'en faire une édition complète, inédite, en 2004. Le matériel d'orchestre, urtext, a été préparé à partir de ce manuscrit. Il a été revisé par Jean-Christophe Spinosi, directeur musical de l'ensemble Matheus, et Laurence Paugam (premier violon de l'ensemble) et enregistré par cet ensemble en 2008.
