SKU: BR.SON-390 Abt. Motette/Messe Bd.19: Annaberger Chorbuch II/2. Composed by Jurgen (Hrsg.) Kindermann. Edited by Jurgen Kindermann. Linen. Complete Works. New additions to the repertoire of ca. 1500. Renaissance/early Baroque; Baroque. Complete Works. 240 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel #SON 390. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.SON-390). ISBN 9790004803035. 10 x 12.5 inches. The Annaberger Chorbuch II is the second part of the sole surviving musical source from the music collections of the church library of Annaberg in the Erz Mountains. It was long housed there until it was acquired in 1968 by the Sachsische Landesbibliothek Dresden and restored. The two volumes contain many anonymous compositions which considerably expand the previously published repertory of German music from the early 16th century. This elevates the work manuscript to the rank of an important source. It contains a variety of pieces in all sacred genres and generally in four-part writing: masses, single mass movements, Magnificat settings, motets and a collection of hymns and Introit pieces. Thanks to concordances, certain pieces can be attributed to composers such as Antoine Brumel, Loyset Compere, Alexander Agricola and Heinrich Isaac.

Full score. 22 pages. Carl Fischer Music #CPS249F. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.CPS249F). ISBN 9781491159484. UPC: 680160918072. The following notes were prepared by Alan Hollander, former Edgemont High School Band Director: The opening fanfare leads to a lively English Country melody reminiscent of the writing of the English composer Gustav Holst. This theme is announced by the horns with subsequent solos by the oboe, trumpet and clarinet. The mood is light and airy; I remember my students humming and whistling the theme after our rehearsals. The short legato bridge leads back to the opening fanfare and a rousing conclusion. Edgemont Festival Overture was performed at a district festival with over 300 students, grades 5 through 12. Although the technical requirements were in the wheelhouse for the average high school band, one of the hidden assets is the accessibility of the inner parts, making it possible for the younger players to participate. Mr. Hollander has been an active oboist, conductor, and educator for over forty years. As a conductor, he has directed the American Wind Ensemble, the Westchester, NY Pops Band, the Larchmont Summer Symphony and as music director/conductor of the Westchester Band, one of the longest running community bands in New York State. He has taught in the public school systems of Hempstead and Scarsdale, New York, and at Hofstra University. He is currently an associate professor at Lehman College-CUNY, and is preparing a book titled How to Build a Community Band. Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1063946-140 Composed by Itaru Sakai. Inspiration Series. Score Only. Composed 2006. 60 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1063946-140. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1063946-140). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. The Hida High School is in a highland city called Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. Takayama City has some of the highest mountains in Japan, atmospheric rows of houses and streets, and a beautiful landscape. The magnificent views from these mountains can be described as a paradise above the clouds. When the composer visited there in the summer of 2001, the lovely flowers spreading through the valley and the refreshing air welcomed him. The flowers looked as if they were fashionably dressed and fully enjoying conversation and a short summer at a reunion party. The composer was inspired by this scenery to compose this piece. The musical party opens with happy greetings of a reunion andjoyful themes follow one after another. A light xylophone solo, a waltz and an adagio featuring alternate solos by alto saxophone, euphonium and trumpet lead to a brilliant finale featuring brass and percussion played in irregular time. A beautiful musical picture that your band will enjoy performing for many years.
$47.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks | | |

SKU: BR.BV-413 Complete Letters in 35 Volumes and Supplements. Composed by Richard Wagner. Edited by Isabel Kraft and Martin Durrer. Linen. Buchverlag Breitkopf & Hartel (Music Books). A most disappointing year Romantic period. Complete Works. 720 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel #BV 413. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.BV-413). ISBN 9783765104138. 5.5 x 8.5 inches. German. 1861 was a most disappointing year for Wagner: the Paris Tannhauser premiere was a fiasco it went down in history as one of the biggest opera scandals of all time and, after a grueling wait, the world premiere of Tristan und Isolde planned for Vienna did not come about. Public opinion gave rise to the prejudice that Wagners recent works were unperformable. It was only towards the end of the year that the composer began to see a possible way out of this artistically and materially hopeless situation. He decided to write the Meistersinger and immediately began working on the libretto. In the summer of 1861 Wagner and his wife Minna definitively broke up; after liquidating their joint Paris household, Minna Wagner settled in Dresden, where she spent the last years of her life.
