Appropriately named, this colorful piece is a tone poem that evokes the earth awakening to spring. The lush harmonies exploit the full range of the keyboard with frequent modulations to new keys. The thematic material is seamlessly woven into both parts. Often the primo and secondo hands are very close to each other. The composer includes short phrases above the staff such as swaying branches, fragrant rain, and flowers blooming plus others to depict the various sense of spring. Good piece for an experienced duet team.

The guitar's repertory is now widely varied and includes works that cover, in historical periods, all technical and interpretative aspects, from the single instrument to the guitar orchestra, passing to the duo, the quartet and the ensemble.
What I thought to be important was a work that would include a comparison between the instruments, a dialog in which music flows between the instruments in a harmonized way, with moments of hard work and others of listening, almost to underline the friendship and the collaboration between the players... it is in that way that these songs of middle difficulty are developed, where the components of the orchestra not only have their part to play, they must also pay attention to the solo guitar playing the theme in counterpoint to themselves.
The three compositions presented are of different inspiration: Mattina Presto is the awakening of the day, clear, as a spring morning. It's the easiest song, with it's simple melody that flits among the voices in the group; Scirok (Scirocco in Albanese) contains a theme inspired by balcanic music, signifying the interest of entering other populations to better understand their culture, as in Sweet Argentina, that begins with a tanguero rhythm, passing then to a slower and more delicate melody and by the end returning to the original popular danced rhythm.
Three pieces in which I hope the game will not only help those who play to grow musically, but will also spark a culture interest, music born by the love for the instrument and the world that surrounds me.

In a way it's the UR concept of the nature of the trumpet, an instrument capable of glorious panache as well as sublime, inward looking finesse. My piece is, as indicated in the title, a two fold composition in the form of two contrasting tone poems, each mirroring a fragment of original text, what one could call spiritual appetizers. At the end of chapter 8 of his high spirited Memoirs Hector Berlioz laments the murder of a man he admired, Prince Lichnowsky, who was stabbed to death in Frankfurt in September 1848 by German peasants: Oh, I must get out, walk, run, shout under the open sky! Now, there's a juicy bit of high strung romantic Sturm und Drang for you and the perfect motto for any awakening... Then night fall, Retraite, in which I've drawn upon the early, melancholy poem ALONE by Edgar Allan Poe and taken out one single line as 'subtitle' for this very hushed and withdrawn movement: And all I lov'd, I lov'd alone. WERTHER, an opera in four acts by Jules Massenet (1842-1912), found its inspiration in a novel by Goethe, The Sorrows of Young Werther, which in turn based its story on the actual suicide of a young man haunted with adoration for a married woman. First performed on February 16, 1892 in Vienna, it quickly reached the stage of the Theatre Lyrique in Paris but faltered due to its serious subject matter. The growing success of Massenet's opera Manon allowed it to be introduced to Germany. From there, it achieved fame in opera houses across the world. In the third act, Werther sings Pourquoi me réveiller? (Why do you awaken me, oh breath of spring?), contrasting his blissful realization that Charlotte has accepted his love with the impending realization that their happiness cannot last.
