Solo alto voice, 2 flutes, bassoon (cello), basso continuo SKU: CA.3119711 Cantata for the 1st day of Christmas. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Diethard Hellmann. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Violoncello/double bass. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Christmas, Wedding. Single Part, Cello/Double Bass. Composed 1728. BWV 197a, 4. 2 pages. Duration 6 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.197/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3119711). ISBN 9790007050856. Key: G major. Language: German. Text: Henrici (Picander), Christian Friedrich. Text: Christian Friedrich Henrici (Picander). Only a fragment of the score survives of Bach's Christmas cantata Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe BWV 197a, composed to a text from the Picander cycle of 1728, insufficient to allow a reconstruction of the complete cantata. The fragment begins with the end section of an aria which Bach later transferred into his wedding cantata Gott ist unsre Zuversicht BWV 197. The movement, a lullaby of dreamlike beauty, has long been known as a particular jewel amongst Bach's cantatas. Starting with the surviving end section from the fragmentary score plus Bach's later revision, Diethard Hellmann has convincingly reconstructed the original version so that this aria can also be performed at Christmas. Bach's Wedding Cantata BWV 197 is available separately (Carus 31.197/50). Score and part available separately - see item CA.3119700. $3.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

In Cooperation with G. Henle Verlag Solo concerto; Classical. Part. 8 pages. Duration 16'. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 15131-16. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-15131-16). ISBN 9790004342657. 10 x 12.5 inches. Prank or Color Code?Mozart composed all of his horn concertos for Joseph Leutgeb, a long-standing friend of his family. In Salzburg Leutgeb was in the service of the court ensemble as horn player and violinist before departing for Vienna, where he became known as a performer of Mozart's horn concertos. In 1786 Mozart wrote his fourth horn concerto in E flat major, which, unfortunately, survives only as an incomplete fragment. For the present new edition in Breitkopf Urtext, a reliable early print for the missing sections is used. Nevertheless, this autograph is still a very valuable source, since it contains Mozart's notation of the work in colored ink! The question as to whether this was one of Mozart's typical jokes aimed at Leutgeb or whether he had something else in mind, remains inconclusive to this day. Whoever is curious can take a guess as well, since Breitkopf is printing (in its new edition and in autograph form) the sections in color that were originally transmitted as such. $7.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Orchestra Solo A, 2 Fl, Fg (Vc), Bc SKU: CA.3119707 Cantata for the 1st day of Christmas. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Diethard Hellmann. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Christmas, Wedding. Study score. Composed 1728. BWV 197a, 4. 16 pages. Duration 6 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.197/07. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3119707). ISBN 9790007242428. Key: G major. Language: German. Text: Henrici (Picander), Christian Friedrich. Score available separately - see item CA.3119700. $10.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
