He is one of the last musicians to incarnate the traditional 19th century figure of pianist, teacher and composer, inaugurated at the beginning of the 19th century by Muzio Clementi and carriedon after that by a sequence of famous names that the history of music has handed down to us. As a pianist, he began to give public performances at the age of 13, making his debut in his home town Rosario. Following this success, he embarked upon an extremely busy career as a soloist, giving numerous recitals in Buenos Aires and other citiesin Argentina. He continued to take advanced lessons with eminent exponents of the most prestigious international piano schools. In 1974 he became an Italian citizen and settled in Rome, teaching piano as principal instrument at the S. Pietro a Majella StateConservatory in Naples, the Luisa DAnnunzio Conservatory in Pescara and the Alfredo Casella Conservatory in Aquila. As a composer, he began - at just 9 years of age - to study in the rigorous school of Paul Hindemith, under the guidance of Father Luis Machado, from whom he inherited a love of counterpoint and a strong taste for harmony. He took a diploma incomposition, counterpoint and fugue at the age of 16 at the Amigos del Arte Society in Rosario, going on in 1964 to do an advanced course in 12-tone counterpoint at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Though not well-known as a composer, he composed three solos for bassoon, consisting of a a variety of styles. The Deuxieme (Second) Solo, composed for the 1907 concours of the Paris Conservatory, is in three sections: a stately introduction, a slow middle section, and a brisk allegretto. Originally composed for piano solo, Rubinstein's 'Melody' Op. 3/1 is the best-known work written by the Russian composer. Thanks to the simple, yet tender melody and its expressive harmony, the name of the composer will be remembered forever. The piece makes an excellent encore to a concert.

Joseph Horovitz (b. 1926) is a British composer and conductor, who is best known for his involvement the 1951 Festival of Britain, and for works such as Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo . His Concertante (1948) was his first published composition, written while he was still studying under Gordon Jacob at the RCM. It was modelled on the Weber's Concertino for Clarinet , but is written in a decidedly 20th century idiom. Originally scored for Clarinet and String Quartet, this version for Clarinet and Piano was transcribed by the composer. / Clarinette Et Piano

He was appointed as concertmaster of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig when Mendelssohn, a childhood friend, became the principal conductor in 1835. I would have given anything to be able to play them, and this was what inspired me to study the bass clarinet. The series of diverse emotions which I subsequently experienced made me see Music in a completely new way. I began learning them slowly, inevitably adapting the text. As I discovered their educational value, the knowledge of harmonic structures, forms and stylistic features gradually evolved within me. Over 20 years I have studied various editions and listened to the meaning which these suites have had for many famous performers. Ipleasantly discovered the commendable work of other clarinettists who in turn have dedicated themselves to approaching this composer with the bass clarinet. The objective of this version isn't to impose conditions on how to play the suites. We carried out unique research into the coherence of the text, based on the manuscripts of Anna Magdalena Bach and Johann Peter Kellner. The choice to remove any type of articulation and agogic was made in order to encourage the development of personal interpretation, which obviously requires a fundamental investigation of the sources. This edition comes with 4 versions of the suite. The reason behind producing four versions (which are in different keys and tones) is because every musician has their own tastes and tendencies. Personally, I prefer the bass clef transposed to B flat because I find the bass clef to be the most appropriate for the spirit of the low instrument. Par LEMMENS JACQUES-NICOLAS. Fanfare by Belgian composer Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens, arranged for Clarinet Choir by Matt Johnston. Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens (1823?1881) is a composer unfamiliar to most, unless you happen to be either an organist, or a Belgian (or a Belgian organist!). At the age of 26, he was appointed organ teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with two of his most accomplished students being Alexandre Guilmant and Charles-Marie Widor. In 1879 he founded a school for church music in Mechelen, Belgium, which would later bear his name upon moving to Leuven in 1968. The Lemmensinstituut has since broadened its curriculum beyond church music and is a prominent, award-winning music conservatory. Arrangeur: Gaston Hamelin. Par RAVEL MAURICE / HAMELIN. Initially composed in 1907 for Bass Voice and Piano, Habanera by Maurice Ravel was transcribed for Bb Clarinet and Piano for this edition. Based on a Cuban Contradanza, it features a special habanera rhythm and is generally performed with sung lyrics. In this edition, the Clarinet is a substitute for the Voice. While composing this piece, Maurice Ravel was also working on two pieces with Spanish influence: 'The Spanish Rhapsody' and 'The Spanish Hour'. This edition, which can be used for recitals and exams, will enlighten Clarinet players. Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) isa French composer is famous for his Impressionist contributions.
