Der Text der Kantate eignet sich sowohl für Glockenweihen als auch für die endzeitliche Thematik des Kirchenjahrs. Die Orchesterbesetzung orientiert sich bewusst an den Instrumenten, welche F. Mendelsohn Bartholdy für seine Choralkantate 'Verleih uns Frieden' vorschrieb [es tritt lediglich noch ein Schlagzeugpart hinzu]. Die doppelchörige Anlage der Vokalstimmen rechnet mit einen Favoritchor und einem Capellchor. Insofern sind auch Aufführungenanlässlich von Chortreffen oder Chorfesten möglich.
