The
Iowa Tests of Music
Literacy are the only
nationally standardized
music achievement tests
published in the United
States. These tests are
designed to (1) evaluate
students’
continual growth in music
achievement, (2) diagnose
individual
students’
strengths and weaknesses
in music achievement, and
(3) compare
students’ relative
standing in music
achievement. There are a
total of six levels in
this series, and each
level is sequentially
more difficult. All six
levels are organized into
two parts: Tonal Concepts
