Frauenchor. Par HAYDN FRANZ JOSEF. Haydn presumably wrote his 'Missa brevis” in 1775 for the Brothers Hospitallers of Eisenstadt Abbey. The work takes its nickname, the 'Little Organ Mass', from the organ solo in the 'Benedictus”. This arrangement for female choir (SMezAA) is based on the complete edition of the 'Works of Joseph Haydn”. The original soprano and alto parts have, for the most part, been taken over, as has the soprano solo in the 'Benedictus”. The tenor and bass parts are distributed among the mezzo-sopranos and altos, with a few well thought-out alterations to preserve the harmonic structure. Heribert Breuer has retained the original substance with great skill while giving the work a wholly new and attractive sound. Heribert Breuer was professor of choral conducting and music theory at Berlin University of the Arts until 2010. La poésie sur laquelle se fonde cette composition est la Ballade de la vie extérieure ( la Ballade des Äusseren Lebens ) sous la plume de l'auteur viennois Hugo von Hofmansthal ( 1874-1929 ) . Il est connu pour , entre autres choses , son livrets pour les oeuvres de Richard Strauss ( Der Rosenkavalier , Ariadne auf Naxos , Elektra ) et en tant que fondateur du Festival de Salzbourg . Von Hofmansthal était l'un des derniers des symbolistes allemands . Au centre de ce mouvement littéraire a été l'unification des mondes internes et externes . La recherche du sens est une pierre angulaire de ce mouvement fin-de- siècle .Dans la Ballade des Äusseren Lebens ( Ballad of Life externe ) , le non-sens de l'existence est exprimée en limitant , métaphores d'une oppression ambiance qui se reflète dans la musique . En fin de compte , l'homme est capable d'établir l'ordre de paraître le chaos . Le poète exprime puissamment dans une ligne non - rimes de poésie :'Et pourtant , celui qui dit ' soir ', dit beaucoup ,Un mot , dont la profondeur et le débit de la douleur '.Cette composition suit la structure globale de la ballade , qui est écrit en rimes trois lignes rima - verrouillage terza .L' oeuvre chorale peut être effectuée par un choeur de chambre , mais aussi par un ensemble beaucoup plus vaste. 'Fear Thou Not? was commissioned by the Swedish women's vocal ensemble 'Les Jolies? (gold medalists in 2002 Choir Olympics.The piece depicts how man can change from doubting to believing, led by the Father's voice which both comforts and admonishes.'My music is my own and I have never tried to be original. That has always been my motto and I have only tried to use music to express all the feelings which life has to offer. This has led people to describe my music as 'so sad that it sounds like birds who have lost their wings' but also as 'the happiest classical music that we have ever heard'.My compositions are almost all sacred. They express not only my own faith but also my appreciation and respect for the timeless texts that have been used for centuries and centuries.'Mårten Jansson (b. 1965), elected member of the Föreningen svenska tonsättare (the Society of Swedish Composers), graduated from the Royal College of Music, Stockholm (KHM) with an MFA degree in Music Education, Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Voice. For more than ten years he was the music director and conductor of 'Carmen?, one of the most prominent womens' vocal ensembles in Sweden.
