Dramma per musica in thre acts. Par HAENDEL GEORG FRIEDRICH. Tamerlano HWV 18; Dramma per musica in 3 acts Handel began the composition of Tamerlano, one of the supreme masterpieces of Baroque opera seria, on 3rd July 1724. The libretto was an adaptation by Nicola Haym of Agostino Piovene's Tamerlano, Tragedia per musica, which had been set to music by Francesco Gasparini, and performed in Venice in 1711. When Handel dated the last page of the autograph on 4rd July the work appeared to be complete; but during the three months which passed before the premiere at the King's Theatre in the Haymarket on 31 October, so many alterations and revisions were made that a fresh performing-score had to be writtern very late inthe proceedings, to replace an earlier one which is now 1ost. There were twelve performances between 31 October 1724 and 8 May 1725. Handel revived the opera only once, in 1731, for three performances. For this revival he marked in the performing score a number of cuts in the recitatives, which are reproduced in the present edition; there is more recitative in Tamerlano than in any other Handel opera. Urtext of the Halle Handel Edition. Full score (BA4052) and vocal score (BA4052-90) available for sale Performance material (BA4052-72) available for hire/ Répertoire / Solistes, Choeur et Orchestre

Georg Frideric Händel 's Serse (Xerxes) has everything one would expect from a Baroque opera - many intertwining love stories, affairs, intrigues, scheming, misunderstanding and forgiving - all presented in the great master's magnificent music. The opera is set in Persia in 480 BC and is very loosely based upon Xerxes I of Persia, though there is little in either the Baroque libretto or music that is relevant to that setting, the main focus is on the characters ( Serse , Arsamene, Amastre, Romilda, Atalanta, Ariodate and Elviro - some of which are based on real historical persons) and their plotting. The English version for the opera in three acts was made for the English National Opera's production, first performed in 1985, on the 300th anniversary of Händel 's birth. In this edition of the Vocal score with the original Italian and the later English lyrics accompaniment is provided by the instruments indicated in the orchestration (2 Recorders (or Flutes), 2 Oboes, 2 Horns in F, Trumpet in D, Strings and Continuo [Harpsichord, Cello, Double Bass, Bassoon]), but can also be played by the Piano. Serse 's part, originally sung by a castrato, can be performed by a Soprano or a Countertenor. / Chant Et Piano

Mozart's 'Missa in C major? (K. 220), nicknamed the 'Sparrow Mass? for its frequently recurring characteristic motifs in the violins, has retained a firm place in the choral repertoire to the present day. Now it has been arranged for female choir and is appearing as part of the recently started 'Bärenreiter Female Choir? series.Heribert Breuer has judiciously transferred the tenor and bass solos to the high voices and incorporated the original soprano and alto parts largely unchanged into the solo and chorus parts. He has thereby retained the work's original substance while giving it a wholly new and delightful sound.- Arrangement for female choir (SMezAA) based on the Urtext of the 'New Mozart Edition?- Idiomatic piano reductionHeribert Breuerwas professor of choral conducting and music theory at Berlin University of the Arts until 2010. He is the founder and director of the Berlin Bach Akademie and has made a name for himself with his many arrangements of works from Bach to Schubert. / Choeur Mixte Et Orchestre

lyric coloratura. The OperAria repertoire collection for all voice genres that was successfully launched last year has produced lyrical soprano progeny: From Adele to Zerbinetta, from Pamina to Mimi and Ellen Orford - the first two (of altogether four) soprano volumes contain a representative sampling of important arias from the multifaceted lyrical repertoire. Classical audition arias can be found there, just as vocal gems from opera rarities and arias of classical modernity, each one obviously reliably and carefully edited. Accessorizing one's own lyrical voice, the singer will find a wealth of material such as: information on the composer, the librettist, the work, the vocal range, on questions concerning versions and scoring as well as on the storyline, along with instructive tips from a singer's viewpoint provided by experienced voice teachers and a Phonetics Text Assistant on CD-ROM with diverse possibilities of use. OperAria is the ideal vocal coach for all voice types. Edited by Peter Anton Ling, the books address all singers and are conceived above all for training and auditions. In addition, through their careful selection, they offer valuable inspiration for opera recitals. / Date parution : 2019-09-06/ Recueil / Soprano Colorature

Neue Ausgabe Sämtlicher Werke. Urtext Bestellung Zur Fortsetzung Zu Einem Um 10 % Ermäßigten Serienpreis Möglich. Par MOZART WOLFGANG AMADEUS. This work, possibly commissioned by Prince-Bishop Sigismund Christoph von Schrattenbach , was assigned to three Salzburg composers: W. A. Mozart (part 1), Michael Haydn (part 2), and Anton Cajetan Adlgasser (part 3). Only the manuscript of part 1 has survived. Here Mozart drew heavily on the Salzburg tradition of church music and school dramas, perhaps taking Johann Ernst Eberlin and even his father Leopold as his models.
The first performance took place in the Knights' Hall of the prince's palace on 12 March 1767. The libretto was supplied by Ignaz Anton Weiser (1701-1785), town councillor and mayor of Salzburg .
Mozart wrote out many of the appoggiaturas in this early work, thereby providing a useful guide to the vocal practices of his day. Aria #2 has come down to us with an instructive passage in which the vocal part is ornamented in the hand of Leopold Mozart.
The piano reduction, by K.-H. Müller , was prepared on the basis of the New Mozart Edition. The piano part is uncluttered and easy-to-play./ Répertoire / Chant

Cantata for string orchestra and chorus. Triptych represents the concatenation and re-orchestration of two extant works. Movement I was commissioned with funds from The RVW Trust for the inaugural concert of the Choir of London conducted by Jeremy Summerly in Christ Church, Spitalfields on 18th December, 2004 - the work, premièred as Threnody, was subsequently toured by the Choir to Jerusalem and the West Bank from 19th-26th December, 2004. Movements II and III, commissioned by Portsmouth Grammar School with financial support from the PRS Foundation, were premièred as And There Was a Great Calm in a contiguous version for lower strings and upper voices by the Portsmouth Grammar School Chamber Choir and the London Mozart Players in a concert at Portsmouth Anglican Cathedral on 13th November, 2005 conducted by Nicolae Moldoveanu. The title of this latter section is taken from Thomas Hardy's poem of the same name, written at the signing of the Armistice on 11th November, 1918 - a couplet from which is set, in a moment of tranquillity, in the final movement. Relatively new to living in New York, I am much more aware of the independent, vibrant cultural plurality that exists today - it's probably the single most dazzling facet of the City and is largely responsible for the infamous 'edginess' that pervades daily life there. With this in mind, I set to work on Threnody (movement I here) in 2004 - I wanted to write something that was relevant to the Israeli/Palestinian issue without losing that City 'edge'. The texts, in English, are excerpted from a variety of sources: William Penn, William Blake, the Psalms of David and Muhammad Rajab Al-Bayoumi, an Egyptian poet of the early twentieth-century. Fast and rhythmically influenced by the music of North Africa in its syncopations, this movement was the first composition that evolved entirely from my New York perspective. From the moment that the commission for And There Was a Great Calm (movements II and amp - III here) was offered, I knew the piece I was about to embark upon would end up being linked with Threnody in some way. I realized that what I had been aiming for in Threnody served as a template for this new piece, originally composed for a Remembrance Sunday concert. Musical works connected with commemoration or memorials are often suitably pensive and slow - I wanted to start with that concept, but to bring in some of the relentless urban rhythms that had been such a large influence on my life in the preceding two years. The result is that that the second movement is quiet and gentle (a moment of recollection), while the final movement is much faster and vibrant, returning to a more openly elated rendering of the start of Triptych (the texts here dealing with transmigration and the future). and nbsp - I gratefully acknowledge the assistance of Bruce Ruben and Judith Clurman, as well as that of my parents, with the collation of the texts. Oper in Funf Akten Version 1756. Par RAMEAU JEAN-PHILIPPE. Richer than ever ? Rameau?s ?Zoroastre? in the version of 1756. Opera in five acts. Rameau?s revised version of his opera ?Zoroastre?, which could be heard and seen between 20 January 1756 and 26 March 1757 at the Académie royale de musique, was favourably received. Also from today?s point of view the work profits dramaturgically from many of the changes and seems altogether richer and more tightly woven than the original of 1749. The subject matter of the libretto, derived from Ancient Persian sources, is timeless: the struggle between good and bad. The good is embodied by the religious reformer Zoroastre, a representative of the supreme light being Orosmade. He is opposed by the ambitious magician Abramane who serves Ariman, the spirit of the dark. The opera includes some of Rameau?s most ecstatic and spiritual musical numbers, such as the episode of sun worship in Act 3 with the sublime ?Hymne à la Lumière?, which, for unknown reasons, was not integrated in the revision of 1756. It is therefore included in Appendix 3 of this Bärenreiter edition. Incidentally, with ?Zoroastre? the prologue, wh ich had been customary since the beginnings of French opera in the 1670s, was abandoned. Instead Rameau was the first to introduce an overture which set the scene for the entire drama and thereby anticipated Gluck?s opera reform by many years. - One of Rameau?s main works for the stage, now available with all its versions - With a straight-forward piano reduction in the vocal score by François Saint-Yves - Available on sale full score (B0A8867-01) and vocal score (BA08867-90) - Performance material available for hire BA08867-72 - Jean-Philippe Rameau - Opera Omnia (OOR) IV/26 / Date parution : 2022-07-30/ Répertoire / Chant et Piano

Wacht! Euch Zum Streit Gefasset Macht. Par BUXTEHUDE DIETRICH. There is a lot to be said for the argument that the oratorio Wacht! Euch zum Streit gefasset macht, which has been handed down anonymously, is actually the only surviving Abendmusik from Dieterich Buxtehude and that he composed this work, also known as Das Jüngste Gericht, for St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck, where it was probably performed around 1683. For the first time this full-length work, with its richly contrasting style and dramatic action, is made accessible for performance in its original form. Ton Koopman reconstructed the parts which were missing from the source. / Oratorio / Répertoire / Solistes SSSATB, Choeur SSATB, 2 Violons, 2 AltoS
