All four movements - Preludio, Vals, Tango and Candombe - take their cues from Argentine dance forms and are presented in a well-balanced and conversational style for the two instruments. Simple in structure and romantic in spirit, the movements alternate gracefully between interwoven dance material and heart-meltingly beautiful interludes that pay homage to the Pujol's first love: the guitar. In the composer's words, 'The origin of the title, 'Magic Suite,' comes from the third section guitar solo of the Candombe, which was written in a few minutes.
