This collection is for classical Cellists and presents a broad selection of well-known pieces from the repertoire of classical music, opera, musicals, jazz and tunes from all over the world for all occasions, from solemn ceremonies to happy celebrations. This includes performances as part of public or private ceremonies to mark birthdays, weddings, funerals, anniversaries and jubilee celebrations as well as concerts in schools. The selection ranges from popular classical works such as Bach's 'Air', Mozart's 'Little Night Music' or Schumann's 'Reverie' and well-known operatic melodies through to medleys featuring waltzes, Dixieland or folk songs through to tangos and a few jazz standards. Orbit is a work composed by acclaimed minimalist composer Philip Glass for Solo Cello. Orbit was commissioned by Damian Woetzel and premiered on the 2nd of April 2013, in a performance by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and dancer Lil Buck at Le Poisson Rouge in New York.The performance was a celebration of the collaboration between an incredible young dancer, an unbelievable cellist and one of the most accomplished composers of the modern day. This Philip Glass sheet music, however, is all about the music. With a softly-evolving melody that begins as a basic pattern before turning back on itself and transforming, Orbit is the perfect soundtrack to a marriage of virtuoso musicianship, expressive dance and achingly tender solo instrumental composition. Shed a Sweet Light, arranged by Cleo Goldberg, celebrates songs from the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah: a time of light, dancing the Horah, eating Latkes (potato pancakes), playing Dreidel (spinning top), and singing happy songs. S_x001A_Vivon literally means spinning or dreidel, while Hanukkah, O Hanukkah is about the traditions of Hanukkah mentioned above. Shed a Sweet Light in E Minor explores mixed meters of 2/4 and 4/4, pizzicato, arco, and slurred 1/16 notes at Level 3. Archduke. Par BEETHOVEN LUDWIG VAN. By the time Beethoven completed the ?Archduke? Trio in 1811 he had been working on it for several years. In April 1814 he could finally give the work its première together with Ignaz Schuppanzigh and Joseph Linke, this being Beethoven?s last public appearance as a pianist. He dedicated the piece to his friend, pupil and patron, Archduke Rudolph of Austria. Today it numbers among his most celebrated pieces of chamber music, not least because of its remarkable melodiousness ? a feature typical of Beethoven?s music from these years ? and its spacious formal design.
