Albumblatt für Arriaga, commissioned by the Trio Arriaga...(+)
Par CASABLANCAS BENET. Albumblatt für Arriaga, commissioned by the Trio Arriaga and lasting some 7:30 minutes, is the composer's fourth contribution to the classical violin, cello and piano ensemble, for which he has a special esteem. The work was written in homage to the composer Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga, and at the same time as a token of gratitude and admiration for the Trio Arriaga, to whose members the work is dedicated; a double motivation that is reflected in the title of the work. Its course is presided over by a markedly lyrical character that coexists with passages full of energy, rhythmic vivacity and drama. The introduction and epilogue of the work are based on a musical motif derived from the name of the Basque composer (Ju-A-n C-r-I-S-ostomo A-rr-I-A-G-A), made up of the notes A, C, E, Eb, A, E, E, A, G, A, in the manner of a musical acrostic, and from whose nature the harmonic and thematic material of the whole work is largely derived. The premiere of this Trio took place on 5 November 2015 in the Chamber Hall of the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. / Date parution : 2022-02-03/ Répertoire / Violon, Violoncelle et Piano

Fragments K. 442. Par MOZART WOLFGANG AMADEUS. Mozart often began work on a composition only to put it aside, unfinished. Some of these fragments contain wonderful music, as is proved by these three Piano trio fragments. Mozart composed them at different times as individual movements, though the posthumous first edition brought them together as a supposedly new and unknown Piano trio by the composer, and on this basis they were given the number “442” in Köchel’s catalogue. The first edition used completions by Mozart ’s friend Abbé Maximilian Stadler that were stylistically correct but possessed little originality. This Henle Urtext edition offers both these versions andnewly-composed, highly rewarding completions by Robert D. Levin.

Violon, Violoncelle Et Piano

Arensky's Piano Trio Op.32 was composed in memory of cellist Karl Davidov, friend of both the composer and Tchaikovsky, as well as director of the St. Petersburg Conservatory during Arensky's studies. The cello plays a prominent role in the trio, at times matching or surpassing the violin in importance. / Violon, Violoncelle Et Piano

Herttrich Ernst (Editor) - Schilde Klaus (Editor). Par MENDELSSOHN-BARTHOLDY FELIX. After an early work and a discontinued attempt in 1831/32 Mendelssohn made his breakthrough in this important chamber music genre in the summer of 1839 with the Piano Trio in d minor op. 49, which was to be followed six years later by the Trio in c minor op. 66. On publication of the first trio, Schumann took the opportunity to describe the composer as the 'Mozart of the 19th century”, whereby he was obviously alluding to the mixture of Classical and Romantic stylistic elements. The musical text of these two famous Trios has been thoroughly revised to reflect the latest scholarly findings. In addition HN 1297 also includes a Flute part for the alternative version of op. 49 (Flute instead of Violin) that Mendelssohn himself made. / Classical / Répertoire / Violon, Violoncelle et Piano

This volume contains parts for violin, viola and cello. The National Edition of the Works of Fryderyk ChopinPublished by PWMExclusively Distributed by Hal Leonard CorporationCo-EditorsJan Ekier and Pawel KaminskiThe objective of the National Edition is to present Chopin's complete output in its authentic form, based on the entire body of available sources. Sources were analyzed with up-to-date scientific and musicological methodology. The National Edition was based on sources originated from the composer, mainly autographs, copies of autographs and first editions with the composer's corrections, and pupils' copies with Chopin's annotations. In cases when original sources were lacking, the closest possible materials were used. Collecting the source materials was a laborious task which took years of effort. The characteristics of sources, the links and discrepancies between them as well as the reasons for particular editorial decisions are discussed in the Source Commentary in each volume. The Performance Commentary appended to each volume includes: the realization of ornaments, comments on pedal markings (the original markings sometimes are inadequate, due to the difference in sound between pianos used in Chopin`s times and modern pianos), suggestions as to the 'harmonic legato? (a performance technique often used by Chopin and now forgotten). / Violon, Violoncelle Et Piano

Par KAPUSTIN NIKOLAI. Nikolai Kapustin’s Allegro is a thrilling single-movement work for piano trio, bursting with energy and replete with additive rhythms and characteristic jazz-inspired dissonances. It would make a great encore to any accomplished trio’s recital programme and joins a growing series of this Russian composer-pianist’s works newly published in the Edition Schott series./ Répertoire / Piano, Violon et Violoncelle

Bärenreiter?s new scholarly-critical edition of op. 87 edited by Christopher Hogwood is based on the score and parts from the first edition; where necessary he also consulted the autograph.
The first edition parts were engraved after the manuscript parts and not after the score. Here the readings of the legato phrasing and the dynamics more accurately reflect the composer?s intentions than in the first edition score.
