Diplômée du Cleveland Institut of Music (Ohio) et de l'Institut International de rythmique Jaques-Dalcroze de Genève, Joy Kane s'est installée à Paris en 1981. Durant les vingt années pendant lesquelles elle a vécu et enseigné en France et en Europe, sollicitée pour ses ateliers de rythmique, d'improvisation et de technique vocale, ses interventions et stages dans les écoles de musique classique et de jazz, les centres polyphoniques ou même dans le cadre de l'Education nationale, ont soulevé l'enthousiasme de ses élèves, professeurs de musique et de danse, qui se sont arrachés ses morceaux pédagogiques.
