Pasto
ral Notes: Parishes that
celebrate Children's
Liturgy of the Word will
find Go Now in Peace. an
appropriate song to
accompany the
congregational dismissal
or the sending of
children to their
celebration of the Word.
The piece is also useful
for the dismissal of
catechumens, which take
place following the
homily. Verse four is
particularly appropriate
for this rite. The
refrain's simplicity will
allow any worshiping
assembly to learn Go Now
in Peace. quickly and
easily.

Bobob
o or Borborbor
(boh-boh’-boh) is
a recreational piece
performed at celebrations
and festivals by the Ewe
people of southeast
Ghana. This area is
called the Volta Region.
Bobobo is performed in
all sorts of social
settings, including birth
celebrations, communal
events, school
gatherings, or weddings.
This arrangement for
children's choir features
two well-known Ghanaian
(Ewe) songs: Duma Nya Me
and Joy Like a River.
With its catchy melody
and interesting interplay
between the parts, this
arrangement is sure to
be an instant hit with
audiences and performers
alike. It can also be
performed with body
movements and percussion
ensemble (instructions
for both included).

English. Text by Kazuaki

In my
opinion our world is
currently in great need
of reestablishing strong
connections one to
another, be it with
family and friends,
neighbors and strangers,
nations and nations, or
with those of different
cultures and religions.
In his important book, I
and Thou,
philosopher-theologian
Martin Buber says that
the most meaningful life
is centered on
relationship. As a
musician, I felt
compelled to express the
I-THOU thesis through the
human voice. In searching
for the right words to
express this sentiment, I
was fortunate to find
Kazuaki
Tanahashi’s
eloquent poem,
“Encounter.â€

Words based on a
traditional nursery
rhyme; music by Glenda
Franklin.
A piano
accompaniment that
suggests the gentle
rocking of a boat at sea
sets the scene for this
fanciful nighttime
adventure, featuring a
text adapted from a
traditional nursery
rhyme. With a melody
built around a minor
triad, it's a clear
introduction to minor
tonality. A couple of
cues allow for optional
three-part harmony at the
end.
