Description Edward Elgar?s The Dream Of Gerontius is a splendid oratorio for Mezzo-soprano, Tenor and Bass with Chorus and Orchestra. It is based on the epic poem, The Dream of Gerontius by John Henry Newman written in 1865. The original vocal score of Gerontius was actually printed before Elgar's had even finalised or completed his final orchestration and as such it was printed without many of the markings that were added in the later full score. This new edition brings vocal and full scores into agreement for the first time having been authentically and effectively edited by Hywel Davies and Bruce Wood, and also includes helpful notes on the background to the work as well as an outline of the editorial procedure and list of sources. This New Novello Choral Edition of the Vocal score with Piano reduction of the orchestral materialincludes a detailed foreword listing history, sources and editorial proceedure. Chorale settings form a central part of Telemann's oeuvre. His 1754 setting of the church hymn Christus, der ist mein Leben, based on Melchoir Vulpius' melody from the Hamburg Hymnal, is especially well-suited to display his mastery in depicting the words of the chorale. The so-called 'Ausfüllungsbass? (a vocal bass added to the principal bass in tutti passages) was probably necessitated by the acoustical properties of Hamburg's churches. This is the first Urtext edition of this highly successful chorale setting which is based on Georg Philipp Telemann Musical Works. The score contains a realisation of the continuo part. / SATB Et Piano

Arrangeur: Andreas Köln. Par SCHUBERT FRANZ. Franz Schubert's 'Stabat Mater” D 175 is one of a number of church works that he wrote for his local congregation in Lichtental.
This edition is based on the sole surviving source, the composer's autograph full score. Unlike its like-named companion piece D 383, Schubert uses the original Latin poem here. In his setting of April 1815 he focuses on the first two lines of the text depicting the Virgin's motherly sorrows.
This edition is based on the Urtext from the 'New Schubert Edition”. The original figured bass numerals found in Schubert's score have been modernised in all performance material and meticulously adapted to meet the demands of today's performers./ Répertoire / SATB et Piano

Par LAURIDSEN MORTEN. For centuries, composers have been inspired by the beautiful O Magnum Mysterium text depicting the birth of the new-born King among the lowly animals and shepherds. This setting for unaccompanied SATB divisi by Morten Lauridsen, one of America's most loved and most performed living choral composers, is rich in colour, deeply spiritual and intensely moving. It is rated as 'reasonably straightforward' to sing so suitable for the majority of choirs. A Piano part is included in the score for rehearsal purposes only. / Niveau : Facile / Feuillet / Choeur
