Ola Gjeilo (prononcé Yay-lo) est né en Norvège en 1978, et a déménagé aux Etats-Unis en 2001 pour commencer ses études de composition à la Juilliard School à New York.oeuvres de concert Ola sont effectuées partout dans le monde, et son premier enregistrement en tant que pianiste-compositeur, la pierre croisé lyrique album Rose, a été publié en 2007, suivi par ses Improvisations 2012 séquelle Piano,. Beaucoup d'oeuvres chorales de Ola figurent sur Phoenix Chorale / CD Charles Bruffy sur l'étiquette Chandos, Northern Lights (2012), qui se consacre entièrement à sa musique pour choeur.Il aime particulièrement écrire de la musique pour choeur, orchestre / symphonique vents, et le piano, tout comme pianiste, sa passion principale est l'improvisation, en solo ou sur ses oeuvres propre ensemble.Actuellement, un compositeur à plein temps basé aux Etats-Unis, Ola est également très intéressé par le cinéma, et sa musique puise beaucoup d'inspiration des films et de la musique cinématographique.Seconde Eve est la première composition par Gjeilo Ola qui sera publié par Edition Peters.Remarques Compositeur ::'Dans certains de mes morceaux, le texte est un peu plus au service de la musique que dans l'autre sens, et Eve La seconde est une de ces oeuvres. La musique est principalement inspirée par une photographie à couper le souffle prises par l'un de mes photographes préférés, Jake Rajs, présentés dans le livre These United States (Rizzoli). c'est une image de l'Alaska du mont McKinley, le plus haut sommet des Etats-Unis, et je regardais cette photo tout au long du processus d'écriture, en s'assurant que l'énergie et l'atmosphère de la musique correspondait avec le sentiment que j'ai eu en regardant l'image.Le texte Sancta Maria semblait sorte de bon dans ce que je cherchais dans cette pièce, exprimant quelque chose de mystique, et le type de royauté, qui Mt. The Maccabaean Revolt in the second century B.C. provided the background to the story that unfolds in Judas Maccabaeus . It is part of the history of the Ptolemaic and Seleucid Empires. This oratorio follows the story from the death of Alexander the Great in 323 B.C. up until Judas' march on Jerusalem in 164 B.C. With a libretto supplied by Thomas Morell, Handel's great work was first performed at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, on April the 1st, 1747, as part of his annual Lenten season of oratorios. By the time of Handel's death in 1759, Judas Maccabaeus had become the composer's second most popular oratorio, having received 33 London performances under the composer's supervision ( Messiah had 36). Composed in 1823 but not performed during his lifetime, Franz Schubert's Fierabras is a 'number opera? with spoken dialogue in the manner of opéra comique. It is based on the medieval legends associated with Charlemagne, including that of Eginhard and Emma, and draws on the old French heroic epic (chanson de geste).Emma, the daughter of Charlemagne secretly loves the knight Eginhard who is not befitting of her rank. The heathen Moorish prince Fierabras who, after being defeated by Charlemagne, falls into French captivity and converts to Christianity, is also in love with Emma. His sister Florinda on the other hand loves the Franconian knight Roland who is being held prisoner by the Moors and whom she helps to escape. After several military conflicts where Charlemagne's army finally conquers the Moors, the lovers reunite. It also includes an Introduction that describes the genesis and the first performance of the Serenata, the state of the sources and its musical content. The St. John Passion ranks alongside the St. Matthew Passion, the Christmas Oratorio, the Magnificat and the B minor Mass as one of the great vocal works from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Leipzig years. In contrast to his other large-scale choral works, however, Bach never gave this work a definitive final form. Rather, for every performance he substantially revised the general concept of the piece and also changed numerous details. All previous editions of the St. John Passion have combined readings from various layers of sources and thus present the work in a form which was never heard during Bach’s lifetime. Consequently, the wish often expressed by conductors to perform anauthentic version by Bach could not be easily achieved. The present critical, new edition of the St. John Passion fulfills this wish and for the first time makes available the complete music of the second version of the work as it was performed under Bach’s direction in 1725. Since a number of movements were replaced by others, including the opening chorus, this version differs most dramatically from the “standard” version which is well known today. J. S. The so-called Köthener Trauermusik (Cöthen funeral music) was performed at the memorial service for Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen on 24 March 1729. The history of reconstruction begins in the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1873 Wilhelm Rust, co-editor of the first Complete Bach Edition and subsequently Thomaskantor, established the fundamental relationship between the Köthener Trauermusik on the one hand and the St. Matthew Passion and Trauerode BWV 198 on the other.In the service of concert practice, it is the intention of this attempted reconstruction to enrich the repertoire of church music for Passiontide and the period around the Sunday before Advent, on which the dead are commemorated. It is also hoped that it will contribute to the understanding of Bach's 'Great Passion?, whose sister work the Köthener Trauermusik is. / Chant and Piano
