Year-Round Series The
latest in our series for
6 ringers. These 8
arrangements can be
played by only 6 people.
Because there are more
than 12 bells used in
each piece, there is more
harmonic diversity and
tables may be necessary.
A perfect set to provide
a year of music with a
smaller ensemble.

Sondra K.
Tucker has written the
impassioned Seasons of
Life, for three to five
octaves of handbells.
This memorial piece is
both hauntingly beautiful
and powerfully
life-affirming. Though
marked a level four, most
choirs capable of ringing
a level three piece ought
to be able to work this
one up with a modest
effort, and the result
will be well worth it.
Mallets and singing bell
are used sparingly
throughout, but always to
good effect. Perfect for
a memorial service or
general use. 3-5 octaves
level 4.

For 3

choir. Rated level 2/2+.
The set includes: Come,
Thou Long Expected Jesus;
Restoration; I Come With
Joy. These arrangements
from Southern Harmony
provide easy yet
interesting and varied
selections for worship.
Each piece presents small
challenges for early
intermediate choirs,
though none should prove
insurmountable, and the
tunes are so enjoyable
that the effort to learn
them is well worth it.
Ideal choices for the

A
fanfare-like opening
gives way to a delicate
melody underscored by
malleted bells in a 3 3 2
rhythmic pattern, which
recurs throughout the
piece. Various moods and
emotions are explored,
providing ample
opportunity for focus on
musicality and
expression. This is an
ideal piece for the
advanced ensemble looking
for a worthy musical
challenge!

Willi
am Payn is recognized as
one of the finest
contemporary composers of
handbell music. This is a
classic William Payn
piece and will be a
welcomed addition to the
handbell repertoire. The
piece begins with a brisk
eighth note pattern in
both treble and bass
bells and is followed by
the introduction of a
theme presented in the
bass bells. The theme is
developed and moves
through three key changes
before giving way to a
peaceful middle section.
Both themes are combined
in the finale. A
challenging piece well
worth the work. For
church or concert use. 5
octaves (58 bells).

From the pen
of the talented Sandra
Eithun comes this
engaging setting of the
hymntune MELITA. A
haunting, slightly
dissonant opening gives
way to a verse of the
tune underpinned by a
slightly unsettled
malleted accompaniment.
Further verses of the
tune explore different
moods and emotions before
a return to the feeling
of the opening. A worthy
choice for the ensemble
wanting something a
little different.

by Getty H. Huffine. This
tour de force is a
perfect choice for the
advanced ensemble looking
to highlight their bass
section in a challenging,
acrobatic escapade.
Constant scales and
moving lines; repeated,
fanfare-like treble
chords; and a
blisteringly-fast tempo
make this a piece not to
be undertaken lightly.
The overall effect is
well worth the effort,
however, and is sure to
delight and amaze your
audiences!
