for Solo Clarinet and Clarinet Choir. Par WEBER CARL MARIA VON. The Concertino of Carl Maria von Weber was originally composed in Spring 1811 over the course of three days for German clarinet virtuoso Heinrich Joseph Baermann. It was a particularly productive year for Weber, as he also composed the two concertos for clarinet, a bassoon concerto, and the clarinet quintet, among other pieces. A tour with Baermann from December 1811 through March 1812 performing these clarinet works was a turning point in Weber?s career, after which his music gained popularity and was more universally accepted. / Date parution : 2022-11-29/ Répertoire / Ensemble de Clarinettes

Par VIA KELLY. In a simple, yet charming style, Kelly Via has set the well-known tune, Arirang along with Gold Grass and Blue Bird to form a suite of three contrasting movements. Arirang, the most familiar Korean folk tune is about a woman waiting for her lost love. Gold Grass depicts the beautiful gold colored grass that grows in the deep valleys in the spring. Par LEMMENS JACQUES-NICOLAS. Fanfare by Belgian composer Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens, arranged for Clarinet Choir by Matt Johnston. Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens (1823?1881) is a composer unfamiliar to most, unless you happen to be either an organist, or a Belgian (or a Belgian organist!). At the age of 26, he was appointed organ teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with two of his most accomplished students being Alexandre Guilmant and Charles-Marie Widor. In 1879 he founded a school for church music in Mechelen, Belgium, which would later bear his name upon moving to Leuven in 1968. The Lemmensinstituut has since broadened its curriculum beyond church music and is a prominent, award-winning music conservatory.
