Based on the
famous melody from the
Adagio movement of
the Clarinet
Concerto by Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart, this work
has a beautiful lyrical
quality to it.
Compositions of this
nature require the
ability to play with
great expression. The
wonderful talent and
genius of Mozart is
clearly perceptible in
this unforgettable
melody. Celebrate
Mozart’s 250th
anniversary with this
most popular brass band
work.
Mit The
Young Amadeus
verleiht Jan de Haan dem
zweiten Satz aus dem
Konzert für Klarinette
und Orchester in A-Dur
(KV 622), das Mozart 1791
kurz vor seinem Tod
komponierte, neue Frische
und Jugendlichkeit. Die
Melodielinie ist
zauberhaft - wie ein
sanfter Gesang hebt sie
sich filigran von einer
luftigen Begleitung ab.
Von Mozart für einen
guten Freund geschrieben,
vermittelt die Musik die
Botschaft der
Freundschaft.

In this
composition, Dizzy
Stratford gives a musical
impression of Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart’s
beautiful hometown. The
theme of the work has
been derived from the
middle movement of one of
Mozart’s piano
sonatas and provides the
concert band with a
glimpse into the creative
genius of this great
composer.
Das
Andante in G-Dur KV 501
wurde von Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart
ursprünglich für
Klavier zu vier Händen
geschrieben. Dizzy
Stratford nahm die
bezaubernde, leichte
Melodie und setzte sie in
ein etwas moderneres,
aber ebenso leichtes und
reizvolles Stück
für Brass Band um, in
dem tiefe und hohe
Register gleichermaßen
zum Zug kommen.
