C'est en 1992, pour célébrer le 20o anniversaire de la reconstitution de l'orgue Silbermann de l'église réformée St. Jean de Mulhouse par le célèbre facteur Alsacien Alfred Kern en 1972, que fut composée ' Chaconne sur le nom de Silbermann '. La mélodie du thème est conçue selon la notation musicale anglaise. Ce thème obstiné évolue sous forme de variations dans une progression rythmique et sonore. Les régistrations choisies font référence à l'instrument baroque français tel que Silbermann l'avait conçu. Composée en 2007, la ' Cantilène ' est une pièce monothématique structurée en 3 parties A-B-A. / Orgue

Flor Peeters, born in Belgium in 1903, is one of the most important organists and organ composers of the 20th century. After completing his studies at the famous Lemmens Institute in Mechelen, he worked there as a teacher of organ and improvisation before becoming professor at and director of the Royal Flemish Conservatoire of Antwerp. Until his death in 1986, Peeters gave concerts all around the world, held numerous master classes and received several awards and prizes for his achievements as a composer, organist and teacher. Charles Louis Eugène Koechlin (1867-1950) a étudié avec Massenet et Fauré et fonda la Société Musicale Indépendante avec Ravel, Schmitt, Caplet et Huré. Poulenc et Sauguet étaient deux de ses élèves. La composition des organes de Koechlin est publié dans une édition en deux volumes pour la première fois.
