Par MARTIN FRANK. Swiss composer Frank Martin was exposed to the two folk songs during a trip into the mountains, and was immediately taken with them. He took pains to transcribe the verses and melodies, then wrote piano accompaniments to complete the settings. The two songs, Chanson de métamorphoses and Il faut partir pour l'Angleterre, are lighter fare from Martin, but fine additions to the vocalist's repertoire.
