The three volumes are intended to complement a piano tutorial method and are particularly suitable for performance at auditions at music schools, for examinations and for competitions. They offer varied repertoire in a broad selection of pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras.
Volume 1 (ED 22547) can already be used by beginners, containing pieces in the five-note range and easy pieces spanning a single octave. Other criteria for selection are simple rhythms and very easy chords. Crossing the thumb underneath, playing several parts together and pedal use are not yet required.
Volume 2 (ED 22548) contains pieces with an extended range of two octaves. Crossing the thumb under, pedal use, simple polyphony and three- or four-part chords all feature here, as do simple ornaments, cantabile playing and differentiating between melody and accompaniment.
Volume 3 (ED 22549) is aimed at advanced players who wish to refine their expression and personal interpretation. The pieces demand a great deal of dexterity, a high sense of rhythm, articulation and phrasing, polyphonic playing (polyphony even in one hand) and tonal differentiation of the piano setting. / Niveau : Très facile / Date parution : 2021-12-09/ Recueil / Piano

Music Piano seul [Partition] - Intermédiaire/avancé Amsco Wise Publications
The Library Of Baroque Music is an enormously expansive collection of the greate...(+)
The Library Of Baroque Music is an enormously expansive collection of the greatest works produced during that prolific period that flourished between the Renaissance and Classical eras. All arranged for solo Piano, this volume features works drawn from all the major Baroque composers, including some of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. The progression and development of music during the Baroque period can be heard in these pieces, providing you not only with a window into musical history, but also many exciting additions to your repertoire. The retrospective 'Baroque' label was applied to a diverse range of European compositions-often combining a spirit of experimentation with elaborate new musical structures. Dominated primarily by the Harpsichord and Organ, this period also saw the rise and development of larger-scale forms such as the concerto and oratorio. This superb volume is comprised of Keyboard and ensemble works from all the major Baroque composers, arranged for Piano. Featuring Arne, Boyce, Buxtehude, Corelli, Couperin, Gibbons, Lully, Pachelbel, Purcell, Rameau and Vivaldi, the composers here include some of the most respected and revered figures in musical history. The Library Of Baroque Music spans compositions of many of these masters, ranging from Frescobaldi in the early 1600s to Pergolesi a century later, and the famous three - J.S. Bach, Handel and Domenico Scarlatti.Baroque music, so called for its ornateness, was characterised by a bold exploration of counterpoint and new harmonic possibilities. This was variously expressed through the work of perhaps fifty or so major European composers. By the time Baroque began to segue into a new Classical period around 1750 it had already irrevocably changed and expanded the possibilities of music. The works that precipitated this change are available to play in this single volume, perfect for pianists looking to expand their repertoire with both challenging and exciting music. In this thoroughly enjoyable Library Of Baroque Music, the triumphant progression of this period is illustrated in the best possible way - through the compositions themselves, forming the definitive Baroque collection for solo pianists. / Piano

Par BERTINI HENRI. The Etudes op. 29 and op. 32 are among Bertini’s best-known and most influential tutorial works. For aspiring pianists there is much to discover: Pieces with interesting harmonies in keys with up to four sharps or flats display various musical characteristics using a range of different rhythms, articulation and dynamics. With teaching notes by editor Ruth Taneda.
When Henri Jerôme Bertini, born in 1798 in Lyon, developed into a child prodigy who at the age of twelve was already performing in concerts in Paris and other major cities. Concert tours to the Netherlands and Rhineland region followed. After spending some time in England and Scotland, in 1821 he settled in Paris, where besides teaching piano he performed as a pianist at Parisian salons and went on extended concert tours of the provinces in the summer months. Bertini’s teaching activities through to 1848 inspired his ‘Méthode de Piano’ and a wealth of Etudes (op. 29 and 32, op. 66, op. 100 as well as a Nouvelle Collection d’Études in ten volumes varying in degrees of difficulty).
In about 1848 Bertini stopped working as a pianist, composer and teacher, left Paris and retired to the Dauphiné in southeastern France. He died in Meylan near Grenoble on 30 September 1876./ Etude / Piano

Arrangement For Piano. Par BACH JOHANN SEBASTIAN / BUSONI FERRUCCIO. Aside from the Violin Chaconne (HN 557) and the ten Chorale Preludes for Organ (HN 1293), the Prelude and Fugue in D major ranks among the best-known Piano transcriptions Busoni fashioned from J. S. Bach’s works. Considerable evidence suggests that he viewed these three pieces as paradigmatic examples of his transcription technique. Busoni ’s explicit labelling of the Prelude and Fugue “for concert performance” in the title already serves as an indication of the heightened virtuosic requirements. And, indeed, here Busoni demands that the pianist have perfectly mastered the keyboard, always with the aim of delegating to the Piano, effectively but still in the spirit of Bach, the mighty sound-world of the Organ work. This Urtext edition is heartily recommended to all those pianists who have ever wanted, finally, to pull out all the stops on the Piano. / Schaper, Christian / Scheideler, Ullrich / Répertoire / Piano

With his Etudes-Tableaux Rachmaninoff continued down the path that Chopin and Liszt had already set out on with their concert etudes: the most demanding technical tasks are presented in the form of expressive character pieces. Rachmaninoff composed two cycles, each originally with nine Etudes-Tableaux- however, shortly before Opus 33 went to print, he removed three of the pieces. Several posthumous editions later reversed this decision. However, in our edition we follow the exact structure with six pieces as laid out by Rachmaninoff for publication. The two surviving etudes that were not originally published are reprinted in an appendix to our Urtext edition. / Piano
