The Schott String Quartet Series
With the first books in the series focusing on baroque, classical and romantic styles, The Schott String Quartet Series has expanded to cover music ranging from traditional pieces through to Eastern-influenced works. Aside from 'Indian Summer', which features original compositions, each book contains original arrangements of well known themes, which have often never been arranged for string quartet before.

After a twelve-year interval, Dvo?ák once again turned his attention to the string quartet in summer 1893. He had been musical director in New York since autumn 1892 and spent the summer in Spillville (Iowa) where a group of Czech immigrants had settled, thus making him feel at home. The beautiful natural surroundings led him to write this unconventional string quartet in the tradition of Beethoven's 'Pastoral? - even down to the imitation of birdcalls. Since the first performances, certain rhythmic and melodic characteristics have been traced back to the influences of the folk music of Native Americans and African Americans, which led to the soon popular work being called the 'American Quartet?. For the first time since 1955, the quartet is once again being published in an Urtext edition. / 2 Violons, Alto Et Violoncelle

Ma première partition In Nomine pour flûte alto en sol, violon, alto, violoncelle et claves, reprend une tradition de la Renaissance anglaise oubliée depuis Purcell: composer une 'fantaisie' fondée sur la structure mélodique des mots In nomine Domini du Benedictus de la messe Gloria tibi Domine de John Taverner (v.1490-1575).Initiative de l'Ensemble Recherche en 1999 à Witten avec un premier chapitre d'in nomine, le Festival d'Automne en 2001, pour sa trentième édition, ajoute un chapitre à cette fantaisie de concert. Dans le programme 14 compositeurs étaient invités à composer sur le terme In Nomine (Mark André, Hugues Dufourt, Brian Ferneyhough, Georg-Friedrich Haas, Toshio Hosokawa, György Kurtág, Isabel Mundry, Brice Pauset, Gérard Pesson, Mathias Pintscher, Emilio Pomarico, Wolfgang Rihm, Salvatore Sciarrino, Xu Shuya).Cette partition est la suite de ce terme pour moi, commandée par 01 Ensemble et écrite pour Sheng, l'instrument traditionnel chinois et le quatuor à cordes.
