Dedicated to Maurice Andre, this piece is difficult and requires the skills of an advanced Trumpet player. This work sounds really nice and would work very well for a recital. It is divided in three main movements, the third one being a repetition of the main theme (first movement). Par BOGAR ISTVAN. István Bogár (1937-2006) was a world-renowned Hungarian composer best known for his works for winds. He composed concertos for trumpet, trombone, tuba, two horns, trumpet and horn, as well as several chamber works for winds and works for concert band. Furthermore, he wrote an oratorio, a cantata, various choral works, and folksong arrangements. The subject of the Character Variations is a well-known Hungarian folksong with a characteristic asymmetric metre. The theme is followed by nine imaginative variations, including a waltz, a jig, a march, a chorale, a toccata, and a playful echo piece. The four-minute long composition, which can effectively be performed even by music students, is rounded off by a virtuosic perpetuum mobile variation./ Recueil / Trompette et Piano

The music scene took notice of Erik Satie (1866-1925) all of a sudden: The world premiere of his ballet 'Parade' on 18 May 1917 caused quite a scandal. The production which involved Sergey Diaghilev with his 'Ballets Russes', Pablo Picasso (scenery and costumes), Jean Cocteau (story) as well as Léonide Massine (choreography) divided the music scene of Paris, yet made the composer widely known. Satie who hardly had had any solid musical training and lived in Paris for almost all his life developed a new musical style, in deliberate rejection of the 'Wagnérisme' of his time. Classical form models, new harmonies, stylistic ease, meditative and clownish elements amalgamated in an original way, the perfect example being his '3 Gymnopédies' of 1888 the first of which was here arranged for a solo instrument with piano accompaniment: Thus, it is now possible, even for non-pianists, to play this famous miniature by Satie. Thanks to its easy playability, it can also be used for educational purposes. / Trompette Et Piano

This suite, by Georg Philipp Telemann, has been selected from a set of six Partitas found in the Landesbibliothek at Darmstadt under the tilte La Petite Musique de Chambre (mus. 1032). The phrasing and marks of expression have been added by the editors, together with some suggested speed indications for performance. No specific instrument is mentioned in the original. the style, however, seems particularlay suited to the trumpet and although some transposition has been necessary, care has been taken to preserve this quality in the present edtion.
