Ce #Tictac pour piano et violon (2019) en cinq mouvements, aux tempi alternativement rapides et lents, tour à tour rythmiques et mélodiques, place à sa base le mouvement obsédant du balancier d'horloge, élément structurel dont les cinq mouvements proposent de multiples variations. Le Tictac tictac initial expose le motif principal et entame d'emblée un premier processus de métamorphoses. Le tic-tac donne lieu à des motifs secondaires, comme si le mouvement de balancier livrait différents états d'âme: tour à tour espiègle, lyrique, emporté, majestueux, rêveur et finalement éclatant. À l'intérieur du continuum en figurations rapides de Mouvement stellaire, d'où émerge un thème lyrique, le tic-tac manifeste sa présence de façon diffuse. Un flux ininterrompu représentant les astres tournoyant accompagne une mélodie passionnée elle-même empreinte de mélodies circulaires. Le mouvement s'évanouit comme il a commencé, comme la fin et le début d'une boucle. Entrechoc, manière de scherzo, se présente comme une variation du premier mouvement, en remettant ses éléments en circulation (l'écriture en pizz. notamment) et en replaçant le tic-tac au premier plan. L'impressionniste Goutte de temps, deuxième mouvement lent, lui-même vanauon de Mouvement stellaire, confie au violon une longue cantilène sous-tendue par des figurations d'arpèges composés du piano, qui ne sont en fait qu'une poétique et expressive variation du tic-tac de base. Par HUMMEL BERTOLD. As an educational and recital piece, Bertold Hummel's Sonatina Op. 35, composed in 1969, has accompanied many a young musician following his or her own path. Having sold a thousand times all over the world, it is one of the composer's best-known works and has been included in the repertoire list for the 'Jugend musiziert' competition by the German Music Council. The three movements are characterized by warmth and exciting rhythms: in the powerful Maestoso, the sonority of the main theme is contrasted with a lyrical side theme - the recapitulation ends with an impulsive Fugato. The second movement Elegie consists of a single soulful melody over spherical harmonies of the piano. As a highlight, playful ease, marching rhythms and dramatic intensifications alternate in quick succession in the Finale vivace, followed by wild arpeggios that conclude the piece. Originally composed for violin, versions for viola and violoncello were already commonly used. To mark its 50th birthday, Simrock / Boosey and Hawkes present the work in a revised, newly set edition. With his cabaret partner, Hyung-ki Joo, he has toured concert halls all over the world, wringing all that is humorous out of classical music with just the basic tools of violin and piano. 'In my Garden 1” shows Igudesman in another light, that of a violin teacher, providing excellent material for younger violin students. Each piece depicts a fruit or vegetable to be found growing in the garden and includes a short poem (in English, French and German) and pictures to inspire the pupil and help them to interpret the music. But these are not just fun to play - they conceal useful study material to improve technique like staccato or lyrical smooth bowing. Clever use of double stops (one note always an open string) will help the student make a more rewarding sound and inspire confidence. Grade 1 students can enjoy some of the pieces and still be dipping into it a year or two later.
