German. Christoph
Graupner gehort zu jenen
Komponisten der
Bach-Zeit, die einerseits
reprasentativ fur ihre
Epoche waren,
andererseits aber von der
Musikgeschichtsschreibung
gerade wegen ihrer
anscheinend
unspezifischen Leistungen
eher pauschal behandelt
wurden. Die eigentlich
uberraschend lange Liste
der Literatur uber
Graupner und die grosse
Zahl von Neuausgaben
seiner Werke kann uber
diesen Tatbestand kaum
hinwegtauschen. Denn das
Eigentumliche seiner
Musik und seiner
Personlichkeit durfte
kaum erschlossen sein und
wird sicher nur bei
genauem und in
Detailfragen geduldigem
Nachfragen und Hinsehen
erkennbar.Seiner Herkunft
nach Sachse, hat er Zeit
seines Lebens die
Verbindung zum
thuringisch-sachsischen
Raum aufrechterhalten.
Gleichwohl reichte der
Ort seines langjahrigen
Wirkens raumlich nahe
genug an andere
Musikzentren, allen voran
vielleicht Mannheim,
heran, um seine
Bruckenfunktion zwischen
mitteldeutscher und
westdeutscher
Musiktradition erkennbar
werden zu lassen.Diese
Aufsatzsammlung stellt
einen Beitrag zur
Erforschung einer im
mittelrheinischen Gebiet
sicher pragenden
Erscheinung dar. Sie
versucht, die einzelnen
Werkgattungen Graupners
in gesonderten
Betrachtungen
musikgeschichtlich zu
wurdigen und zugleich
Impulse fur die weitere
Erforschung der
Musiklandschaft zwischen
franzosisch-hofischem und
mitteldeutsch-burgerliche
m Einflussbereich zu
geben. $45.00 - Voir plus => Acheter

German. Musical
dice, a curio of musical
history, was a favourite
parlour game of the 18th
century. The sequence of
pre-composed bars is
determined by the throw
of the dice and the
resulting piece sounds
like a new
composition.The CD-ROM
'Musical Dice' is a
multimedia version of
this historical pastime.
Throw your own dice or
leave it up to the
computer - your PC will
play the finished piece
of music right away or
print it out for you to
play later on keyboard or
piano. Or you can save
the piece as a MIDI-file
and e-mail it to all your
friends as a musical
greeting! Export your
MIDI-files to a sequencer

instrumental parts and
arrangements. $38.00 - Voir plus => Acheter

German. Bis vor
wenigen Jahren wurde der
Schauspielmusik,
abgesehen von einzelnen
herausragenden Werken,
von der Musikwissenschaft
kaum Beachtung geschenkt;
eine historiographische
Gesamtdarstellung bzw.
editorische
Auseinandersetzung steht
noch aus. Gerade das
letzte Drittel des 18.
und das erste Drittel des
19. Jahrhunderts konnen
als eine Blutezeit der
Schauspielmusik angesehen
werden. In diesen
Jahrzehnten entstand
nicht nur eine
unuberschaubare Menge
solcher Kompositionen;
die Problematik der
musikalischen Untermalung
bzw. Bereicherung des
Sprechtheaters wurde auch
im asthetischen Diskurs,
anknupfend an Gottsched,
Scheibe und Lessing,
immer wieder
thematisiert. Am Beispiel
ausgewahlter Buhnenwerke,
beginnend mit
Kompositionen von Johann
Andre, G. J. Vogler und
J. F. Reichardt bis hin
zu Mendelssohn, Lortzing
und Wagner, wird
deutlich, wie
verschiedenartig die
Anspruche von Autoren und
Theaterleitern in Bezug
auf die Schauspielmusik
sein konnten, und wie die
unterschiedlichen
Moglichkeiten der
Theater-Ensembles die
Komponisten
beeinflussten. Die Spanne
reicht von weitgehend
beliebigen Arrangements
mit grosstmoglichem
'Wiederverwendungswert'
bis hin zu gross
angelegten 'analogen', d.
h. ausschliesslich auf
ein bestimmtes Schauspiel
bezogenen, vorbildhaften
Kompositionen (z. B.
Beethovens Egmont, Webers
Preciosa, Mendelssohns
Sommernachtstraum-Musik).
Besonderes Interesse gilt
der Problematik der
Edition von
Schauspielmusiken, die
durch ihre enge Bindung
an das Drama einen
fachubergreifenden
Austausch unter
Literatur-, Theater- und
Musikwissenschaftlern
erforderlich macht. Hier
zeigt sich, dass kaum
eine 'Patentlosung' zu
finden ist; vielmehr
stellt jeder Komponist,
jedes Werk andere
Anspruche an den Editor.
Ausgehend von einem
Grundkonsens, der die
wechselseitige
Bedingtheit von Drama und
Musik unterstreicht,
fuhren nur individuelle,
vom einzelnen Werk
ausgehende Strategien zu
einer adaquaten
Wiedergabe in der
Edition. $76.95 - Voir plus => Acheter

Edition devoted to his
organ works comprises, in
chronological order, the
chorale preludes composed
between October 1893 and
November 1914 in
Wiesbaden, Weiden,
Munich, Leipzig, and
Meiningen. The
composition of chorale
preludes accompanied
Reger throughout his
entire career, even
though they were composed
primarily in the years
from 1900 to 1902 and
1914 (Opus 135a). As
almost no other composer
at the turn of the
century, he dedicated
himself to the chorale
prelude, composing around
100 works in this genre.
Since January 2008, the
first scholarly, critical
edition of the works of
Max Reger (RWA) is being
produced at the
Max-Reger-Institute,
Karlsruhe. Its design as
a hybrid edition breaks
new ground in the methods

comprises three areas of

Lieder and choruses and,
for the first time, Max

which have been eagerly
