This collection includes 58 pieces of music by the Spanish Guitar master Fernando Sor as well as audio of the entire book, recorded by Ben Bolt.
Ben Bolt believes these pieces are the "best of the best" for developing technique, musicianship, and exposing the guitarist to the ingenious musical world of Fernando Sor. Regardless of your current level of expertise, this music will be a joy to learn and listen to.
Pieces include: Napoleon's Theme, E Minor at Midnight, Rhapsody in D, March of the Wooden Soldier and Easter Hymn.
Ben Bolt's digital recordings of his arrangements are superb. His warm tone and singing vibrato bring Sor's music to life. All interpretations are classically correct. He plays on his Fleta and Sons concert Guitar made in Barcelona, Spain (1976).

Par BAY WILLIAM. This is a collection of 155 solos for trumpet, cornet, or flugelhorn. Ninety-one were recorded on various trumpets, 37 were recorded on cornet and 27 on flugelhorn. One hundred and fourteen are original compositions and the remaining 41 are arrangements on favorite hymns and sacred songs. A warm-up study is also included. This compilation comprises 6 books; Trumpet Chants; Trumpet Tone Poems, Trumpet Ballads and Waltzes, Trumpet Partitas, Soliloquies for Flugelhorn, Trumpet or Cornet, and Hymns for Unaccompanied Trumpet. Many of the pieces have been revised and new ones have been added. Each book was recorded with a different instrument although Trumpet Ballads and Waltzes and Trumpet Partitas were both recorded with a cornet. However, a different mouthpiece was used for each of those two recordings, thus giving each a slightly different sound. Both the instrument and the mouthpiece used are noted on the title page of each section. Most of the selections are aimed at developing tone and lyricism on the trumpet. However, Trumpet Partitas definitely addresses technical issues. There is a wealth of music in this collection, and it will add much to trumpet practice and performance repertoire. 'Mors et vita' - death and life. This antithesis opens a stanza of the ancient 11th-century Easter sequence 'Victimae paschali laudes', where life and death are locked in mutual struggle. Zsigmond Szathmary's 12-minute composition of 2015, commissioned for the Freiburg Minster, interprets this primal human experience with mighty explosions of sound. Here the organ can show what it's capable of: its grandeur and strength are fully exploited, but not at the expense of soft and gentle contrasts. Typical of Szathmary's compositional style is the alternation of seemingly improvised, recitative-like writing and passages in strict rhythm. Time and again the composer takes up elements from the church hymn 'Christ ist erstanden von der Marter alle' (Christ the Lord is risen again). / Orgue
