Basées sur le style de 'Choral' elles ont été spécialement composées pour développer la pratique du roulement dans l'interprétation des trémolos dans les premières études au marimba.Since Lin Chin Cheng starts his music journey from Taiwan to Australia and from Australia to Belgium, he has represented several important concerts such as performances in Australia and performed for culture exchange with China and Singapore group. He played his first debut recital in Taipei 2002, joined the 'BA-DA Boom percussion group' and was a training ship of 'KARAK percussion duo'. He participated in the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra touring in Queensland. He was invited to play a showcase concert at the 'Australian Percussion Symposium 2003'.Lin became the European Soloist 2007 at the '4th European Soloist Competition' in Birmingham 2007, and he has received extra both the 'performance choice award' and the 'best marimba award'. He is gaining International recognition since he became at the age of 19 years a laureate of the International Marimba Competition Belgium 2004. Praised for his outstanding musicality and remarkable presentation at that age, he also received the 'Young Talent Prize' award. He also received the 'Third prize' of the International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Poland, the 'Talent Prize' of the Universal Marimba Competition Belgium 2007, the 'Culture Outstanding Award' in the Taiwanese Artist Festival 2006, the 'second prize' of solo marimba and the 'First prize' of marimba duo in APSandE 2003, and the 'First prize' of solo marimba and the young encouragement prize award at the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod 2002.Lin has been invited for master classes and several international festivals in more then 15 countries such as: the International Film Festival in Brussels, the Festival der Voorkempen, the 7th Valencia International Percussion Festival, the 6th International Festival Marimbistas in Chiapas, the International Percussion Ensemble Week, the Universal Marimba Festival Belgium and many European percussion days. In addition, he has taught in several universities - Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium, University of Chiapas, University of Patagonia, La Corunna Professional Conservatory and Hasselt Conservatorium. His composition 'Back to the time? has received the 'Originality Prize? at the Universal Marimba Competition Belgium 2007 and his works became a standard repertoire of international Marimba Competitions. Lin has studied marimba and percussion with Huang Kun-Yan, Guo Guang-Yuan, Gary France, Vanessa Tomlinson, Kevin Man, Eric Sammut and Leo Ouderits. He completed his study specialization marimba with Ludwig Albert and composition with Alain Craens at the Royal Conservatorium Antwerp, Belgium.Nowadays, Lin Chin Cheng is a concert artist from Marimba Projects in Belgium and New Art Inc. in Taiwan and endorser of Resta mallets in France. He has released his first marimba solo album 'Silk Road? and cooperated as a guest artist in several international CD- and concert productions. / Marimba Solo
