Until now, pianists have had little chance to acquaint themselves with the complete range of Ko?eluch's sonatas since very few modern editions were available. For the first time, this new complete edition by Christopher Hogwood presents all of Ko?eluch's sonatas for keyboard solo. The composer, pianist and piano teacher Leopold Ko?eluch (1747-1818) was one of the leading Czech musicians in 18th-century Vienna. His 50 sonatas for keyboard bear witness not only to the transition from the harpsichord or clavichord to the pianoforte, but also to the evolution of the classical sonata at the turn of the 19th century.Until now there have been few modern editions of this music. The Czech composer Franti?ek Xaver Du?ek (1731-1799) was a leading figure in Prague's music life in the latter half of the 18th century. Walther (1650-1717) performed as a violinist in the orchestra of Cosimo III from 1670 to 1674 (Medici dynasty) and served as concertmaster at the court in Dresden. Walther's compositions are contained in two books: Scherzi da Violino solo con il basso continuo (1676) and Hortulus Chelicus (1688). This book presents six sonatas for violin from Hortulus Chelicus transcribed for the mandolin. The collection is a wonderful addition to the classical mandolin repertoire. Opus 13 - Grande Sonate Pathetique. Par BEETHOVEN LUDWIG VAN. In a span of only eight years, between 1794–1802, Beethoven composed twenty Piano sonatas, among them his so-called “Grande Sonate Pathétique” op. 13. It marks the consummation of his Classical style, yet also already alludes to his Heroic Period with its intensely Romantic characteristics. Composed in the “tragic” key of C minor, it foreshadows the expressive drama of later masterworks such as the Fifth Symphony or the Coriolan Overture. Of the famous sonatas, this one is the most technically manageable and thus proves immensely popular with advanced Piano students. The new Urtext edition from G.
