He was a student of the Imperial Academy of Music, having among his teachers Gustav Mahler. In 1936 he signed an agreement with Warner. Steiner, considered the father of symphonic music in Hollywood style. One of his most famous and popular masterworks is, without any doubt, Gone with the Wind (1939). The movie was an immediate success and won ten Academy Awards. In spite of the years passed, this movie still moves young audiences around the world. Lorenzo Bocci has chosen the song Tara?s Theme from this movie and turned the romantic music into an arrangement for concert band. Vom Winde verweht ist einer der Filme, der heute noch Generationen vor dem Fernseher vereint. Oft gezeigt, wird jeder doch immer wieder mitgerissen von der tragischen Liebesgeschichte inmitten der Kriegswirren. Einen nicht unwichtigen Anteil an der bewegenden Atmosphäre des Filmklassikers hat die großartige Musik von Max Steiner, der als Urvater der sinfonischen Filmmusik im Hollywoodstil gilt und neben Vom Winde verweht noch zahlreiche weitere erfolgreiche Filme vertonte. Lorenzo Bocci wählte aus der Musik Tara's Theme und bearbeitete die romantische Musik zu einem Arrangement für Blasorchester. Gefühlvoll und mitreißend!

The fourth volume of the section of the Reger Edition devoted to his organ works comprises, in chronological order, the chorale preludes composed between October 1893 and November 1914 in Wiesbaden, Weiden, Munich, Leipzig, and Meiningen. This first part-volume contains mixed choruses composed by Reger between 1890 and 1902. It includes functional music for use in the Catholic liturgy (Opus 61 and WoO VI/12, 19) and the Protestant liturgy (Opus 79f and WoO VI/17, which provides chorale-based four-part settings for a complete church year). Reger wrote both secular folk song settings (WoO VI/10, 11), as well as sacred (WoO VI/13, 14). His Drei Chore [Three Choruses] op. 39, very demanding both compositionally and tonally, were dedicated to renowned choral societies, almost professional in standard. Palmsonntagmorgen WoO VI/18, written as a commission, forms a bridge to Reger's later motets to a certain extent. Reger's unaccompanied setting Maria, Himmelsfreud (WoO VI/12) was probably composed at the end of 1899 to a commission from the Regensburg Cathedral music director Franz Xaver Engelhart for the collection Marienlob, which he edited. All four verses of the well-known text by Heinrich Bone were set by Reger here, in contrast to his setting of the same name from the Marienlieder op. 61d.

Reger composed Palmsonntagmorgen (WoO VI/18) at the beginning of 1902 at the request of the Chemnitz organist and choral director Georg Stolz. Stolz may also have suggested the text by Emanuel Geibel. The division of the text into sections, and the imitative and chordal passages in the five-part unaccompanied setting already point towards Reger's later motets.
