A Facsimile Edition of the Autographs-Only about a tenth of Mozarts works were printed during his lifetime the rest having been published without the benefit of his supervision. This long-awaited edition of the autograph score offers a rare opportunity to see Mozarts violin concertosaccording to the composers intentions. Thanks to the well-preserved condition of the original manuscripts and Mozarts legible handwriting these reproductions of his scores can be used for study reference and performance. In addition to the fiveworks Concerto No. 1 in B Flat K. 207; Concerto No. 2 in D K. 211; Concerto No. 3 in G K. 216; Concerto No. 4 in D K. 218; and Concerto No. 5 in A K. 219 the volume includes two additional pieces the Adagio in E K. 261 and the Rondo in BFlat K. 261a. The first edition of this volume was published in a limited edition in 1986 and has been virtually unobtainable for many years. Two informative introductory essays by violinist Gabriel Banat who located the manuscripts missing sinceWorld War II supplement the collection: the first one traces Mozarts relationship with the violin and the other examines the history and importance of these manuscripts thought to have been forever lost. This outstanding edition offers teachers violinists conductors musicologists and Mozart enthusiasts an extraordinary chance to possess a score reproduced from the masters own hand.

Vocal Score Large Print-The story of the composition of Mozart's Requiem has a strange fabulous quality that is entirely typical of the events of his life. Whether we are considering his amazing exploits and achievements as a youthful virtuoso and maestro or the depth of his financial misfortunes in Vienna in the late 1780s there is little that is mundane about the main biographical facts. It comes as no surprise then to find that these facts have often been coloured and embroidered to enhance their emotional effect and to create a legend about this most remarkable musician. The simple story of the genesis of the Requiem is in itself striking - that in the last weeks of his lifeMozart was working on a Mass for the Dead that this work was the result of an anonymous commission and that the commissioner's envoy in order to avoid giving an address paid Mozart several unannounced visits like a messenger from another world - this story can easily be filled out with portents and hints of the supernatural.Even the account by Franz Niemetscheki (first published in 1798 based on information given by Mozart's widow Constanze and later receiving 'official' approval by being incorporated into the Mozart biography by Constanze's second husband Georg von Nissen) writes of the commissioner's agent appearing 'like a ghost' and Friedrich Rochlitz's account goes much further in suggesting that the composer was possessed by a demoniac and feverish desire to complete the Requiem and conscious of approaching doom

Composed just three years before Mozart's premature death theSonata in C K.545 has become perhaps his most widely known composition for piano. The piece was probably written for one of Mozart's pupils though it was not published during his lifetime. It has since come to symbolise in miniature the dominant elements of the Mozart style: clarity melodic charm and exquisite balance. These characteristics epitomise the music of the Viennese classical period of the late 18th century. The three-movement work opens with an elegant Allegro followed by a tuneful Andante and concludes with a light-hearted Rondo finale. This version ofMozart's popular work has been edited by Randall Faber.

Research has shown that many printed editions from the 18th Century provide more reliable guidance as to the composer’s intentions than Mozart’s own autograph manuscript; the composer himself prepared many of his works for printing marking them with precise performance instructions for dynamics and articulation. He devoted particular care to the slow movements which are often richly ornamented in the printed editions. This knowledge together with regained access to source materials in the libraries of Eastern Europe gives us sufficient grounds to publish a new Wiener Urtext edition of Mozart’s Sonatas. Advice on performance from the renownedMozart connoisseur Robert D. Levin provides fresh stimulus for revising rather tired standard interpretations of Mozart.

On the occasion of the marriage of her son Archduke Ferdinand of Austria to the Princess Maria Ricciarda Beatrice of Modena the Empress Maria Theresia commissioned the young Mozart to compose the work Serenata Teatrale “Ascanio in Alba”. The librettist the Viennese Abate Guiseppe Parini one of the most outstanding poets of the 18th century wrote a baroque-designed libretto which paid homage to and congratulated the royal couple.Mozart wrote the music in only a few weeks from the end of August until 23 September 1771. The first performance took place on 17 October 1771 in Milan to rousing success. Shortly thereafter LeopoldMozart wrote that his son's composition had so overpowered the main performance of Hasses opera “Il Ruggierio ” from the previous day that he could hardly describe it.- Urtext of the New Mozart Edition- Full score (BA4504-01) and vocal score (BA4504-90) available for sale- Performance material (BA4504-72) available for hire

Spatzenmesse (C)-This Mozart Mass together with BA7520 and BA7521 has been arranged for solo voices chorus and organ from the Urtext of the “New Mozart Edition” thereby making them accessible in all their beauty to choruses and church choirs with limited financial means at their disposal. Martin Focke has based the “concertante” Organ parts on the orchestral writing doing full justice to the timbre of the original. The solo parts and choruses of course leave the Urtext of the “New Mozart Edition” entirely untouched. The “Sparrow Mass” is one of the most significant pieces of church music fromMozart’s years in Salzburg. Thanks to its clarity and largely homophonic texture it remains even today a work that is easily mastered in church and concert hall performances. Self-contained version with Organ instead of Orchestra Straightforward and easy-to-play Organ part Ideal for church services and concert performances

Performed by Mario Hossen violin Accompaniment: Plovdiv Chamber Orchestra Conductor: Nayden Todorov Mozart's third violin concerto KV216 sometimes called the 'Strassburg' for a 'Strassburger' tune in its Rondo is scored for a rather simple chamber-sized orchestra. The Adagio of this concerto must be the most sublime movement in any of his violin concerti and one of the most beautiful and quintessentially Mozartian in his entire oeuvre. Perhaps the most memorable of his five violin concerti it is quintessential Mozart and an indispensable addition to any serious violinist's repertoire. Includes a high-quality printed music score with informative liner notes and a compactdisc containing a complete stereo version with soloist then a second version in full stereo of the orchestral accompaniment minus the soloist.
