Fabio Dentello #752360. Published by Fabio Dentello (A0.1152147). Being one of his most elegant piano sonatas, the sonata in E minor (Hob. XVI: 34) can give us various feelings during its movements. It has a beautiful Adagio and a slight Molto Vivace as a Finale in Rondo form. This piece as said was thought of as a solo Piano Sonata, but the moment I heard it for the first time (on 12/18/2022, and yes, it was precisely on that day, because, I made the decision to start orchestrating it on the next day, the 19th) the idea of orchestrating it came to me because at least for me, it could sound like a beautiful symphony, even if it is very brief. I was extremely satisfied with the results, unfortunately with certain limitations of the VST I use (BBCSO pro) certain excerpts sound a little unrealistic, however, I have great esteem with the result. This orchestration/arrangement can be compared almost faithfully with the original, of course with several additions of voices and certain modifications to adapt it to the context of the orchestra, I tried to be as faithful as possible with Haydn's orchestral language, I am a great admirer of his vast work, and as I am also a classical/romantic composer, I learned a lot from him. I hope you enjoy this work as much as I enjoyed composing it!!

After the cover, there are 21 pages of music: Ten pages for the full score; four pages for the group of blowing instruments (alto saxophone, B flat trumpet, and trombone); four pages for the piano and bass; and three pages for the two singers. Grouping the parts in this manner is natural and advantageous for this particular swing composition. These part groupings will help players in a group coordinate with each other from their group score. This is an excellent compromise between everyone working from the full score, and each player having a score with just the player’s individual part. The audio sample plays the full score.This product solves a problem that any composer of new jazz music faces: Unlike the popular standards, there aren’t any well-known and often-heard arrangements for a band to emulate. As the composer with only a lead sheet, I would have to convince your band to develop an arrangement from scratch, starting from nothing but the lead sheet! With so many attractive standard swing tunes to perform, a busy band may hesitate to put extra effort into an unknown tune. Problem solved! With this full arrangement of They Came Here to Dance, a band can better see and hear the tune’s full potential. It will be easier for a band to make any modifications to suit its particular mix of musicians and to better fit its style. With this arrangement, with written score, part group scores and audio sample, it will be as easy as working from the recording and score of a popular standard. All that’s missing from this arrangement is the percussion, because of the individuality of drummers. The band only needs a skilled jazz drummer to join in easily with this arrangement. Here are the lyrics to They Came Here to Dance: 1.You may come here to eat and to drink.Lots of chins wag, and wine glasses clink. Well, that’s all good, but here’s what I think: They came here to dance! 2. We cats up front have to check our sound mix. Then they walk in, togged to the bricks. Taylor (A0.872438). This is a unique young band march. You may perform it at quarter = 120 OR in cut time -half=96. It works either way. The score instrumentation is for beginning band--flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, xylophone, snare/bass drum and cymbals. For bands playing it in cut time, there are parts (but not on score) in the PDF file for oboe (flute double) and bassoon-bass clarinet--bari sax (all trombone double). You will have to listen to the MP3 recording to believe your ears. NOTICE: THE SAMPLE STARTS WITH THE 4/4 VERSION AND WHEN IT IS OVER, THE 2/2 VERSION WILL BE PLAYED. Very few parts exceed one octave in the key of Bb. The flute/oboe part has one C above the high Bb. The rhythms are fairly easy, but in cut time, they sound challenging. There is lots of dynamic contrast, and your students will learn about lip slurs and march style. The clarinet and bass clarinet parts do not go across the break. The biggest challenge will be endurance for your brass players, but since there are no first and second parts, the lead players might can get a little rest time in the big tutti sections. The horn is kept in the middle range with tenor sax doubling.There are a few solos towards the beginning, but the soloists are getting to play the fun melody of this little two in one young band composition. It contains the parts for Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, B flat Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, B flat Trumpet, Tenor Saxophone, French Horn in F, Bass Clarinet, Baritone Saxophone, Bassoon, Euphonium, Trombone, Bass Drum and Snare Drum. The piece uses the whole ranges of these instruments, from the A1 that can be played by the Bassoon and Trombone, to the C8 that is required from the Piccolo. Many of these instruments need to use techniques to utilise their full range, so make sure your instrumentalists are skilled and knowledgeable.The song has a lot of rhythmic and melodic diversity, and switches tempo and key signature frequently. The keys used are C major, F major, G major and E minor, not too difficult. Some of the rhythms can be quite hard to grasp, and instrumentalists must be able to play quick notes with accuracy. Again, make sure your instrumentalists are well learned for this. The song has a set of melodies, that are divided up by three bar percussion solos. Many of the instruments play solos or solis throughout the song, which it can be good for developing an instrumentalist's ability to stay calm on stage. The song should also improve their ability to play some complex rhythms at quite a fast speed.
