Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.934373 Composed by Luis Cardoso. Contemporary. Octavo. 140 pages. Luis Cardoso #6168163. Published by Luis Cardoso (A0.934373). Challenged by my friend André Granjo, I wrote this piece for Wind Instruments Group of Coimbra (GISC), where André is now conductor. It is expected to be premiered during the first months of 2013, in collaboration with internationally renowned saxophonist Jean-Yves Fourmeau. I've been teenager GISC saxophonist, and with the group traveled through several European cities, which otherwise would have been impossible for me. I dedicate the Martim’s Legend to GISC and Professor Adelino Martins, who directed the group for decades, until his retirement this year. I related his name with a book I read, A Lenda de Martim Regos written by Pedro Canais and published in 2004. Martin, the main character, is born in Ribatejo (Portuguese province) in the fifteenth century, and his fate led him through Africa, America and Asia. Its amazing fictional story inspired me this music, because of travel, discovery, persistence and distracted absorbing knowledge.

This a 3 part vocal with rhythm section backing. Starts out simply and ends in an exciting vocal round for the ending. Can be used as a performance piece. As an example: The 3 groups can be placed in different parts of the room/venue and as the song progresses they converge to a central point to symbolize friends coming together. As they travel through they interact with the audience. This add to a total event for all.

Johnson Gao composed a song for Du Mu's poem 山行 (Mountain Travel) for Karaoke. Du Mu lived in A. D. 803-852 in Tang Dynasty. The song was composed by Johnson Gao in September 29, 2017. Recently, in May of 2021, he enlarged the melody with 10 voices and made the MP3 and this MTV., which includes the original poem, the English translation and back translation from English to modern Chinese. Due to the difference of lunar calendar and solar calendar about 1-2 months late. The original poem had used the February to show the month of flowering. But, that month does not have to many flowers to open. So, the translator used the April to replace the February. And the back translation to modern Chinese also used the fourth month. .

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927020 Composed by Mary Rose Jensen. Arranged by Dr. Jim Fox, ASCAP. Christian,Graduation,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 8 pages. All Brass Radio Publishing #3566411. Published by All Brass Radio Publishing (A0.927020). Send Us On Your Way is a Christian Anthem that would be terrific for services that challenge people to take their faith into the world. It would also be great for graduation, communion, as a benediction, mission commissioning and any other service where the message is to take heart and bring your faith' to the world. Written for SATB with Piano Accompaniment. Here are the lyrics:Through the world’s confusion, we hear a hopeful sound; Stories You have given tell peace and joy are found. In the One Who rose again when death had had its day; We can travel bravelyfor He had been this way. (Knowing You) Knowing You have loved us so, we come to You and Pray for we ask [Chorus:] Send us on Your way Show us how to walk in grace. Keep us on the road of holy faith, Send us on Your way. If the world were perfect, not damaged by the fall, If our heart were holy, not selfish, hard and small.

Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8491-08E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 5 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-08E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-08E). French.A French composer, Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was one of the most significant composers of 19th Century in Europe. The movement of rediscovering his instrumental music has been increasingly successful in Europe since the 1990s, especially following the birth of L’Institut Gouvy in France. However, his solo vocal music has been waiting to be unveiled to the public. Volume One includes 52 songs of Gouvy.Gouvy traveled widely throughout Europe. He was also a lover of nature. Generally, he spent his winters in Leipzig, but in the summertime, he always returned to Hombourg-Haut, France, to stroll through the woods, to hunt, and to relax. Gouvy was fluent in several languages and had a great appreciation of the Renaissance French Poetry of Pierre de Ronsard whose poetry he had set to music. The fifty-two songs in this volume are largely by Ronsard and other Renaissance poets of La Pléiade.Although Ronsard is approximately 300 years older than Gouvy, they both seem to have the same interest in classical literature, though, admittedly, for different reasons. Celebrated by the French and English courts, Ronsard (1525-1585) was the leader of La Pléiade: a group of seven poets (Joachim Du Bellay (1522-1560), Rémy Belleau (1528-1577), Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), Pontus de Tyard (1521-1603), Jean–Antoine Baïf (1532-1589), and Jean Daurat (1508-1588), who dedicated their efforts to writing poetry in French rather than in Latin (or Greek) as most of the Romantic poets did. They wished to enrich the French language, and establish a new literature which would be the equal of the other literature of their period, and the equal to poets of the past. French Romantic poetry featured the closeness of the poet to nature, and his ability to communicate with nature by personifying (anthropomorphizing) all of nature’s elements: flowers, the planets, the moon, the breeze, and even the sand upon the shore. As a significant melodist, Gouvy’s treatment of the vocal solo line and his treatment and development of the piano accompaniment places him in the upper echelons as a composer of songs. His diverse cultural life led a rich and significant musical life, interacting with his contemporaries who admired his work, and whom Gouvy knew well, such as Liszt, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Berlioz and Gounod.

Italian.
At the end of December 1930, Nino Rota travelled to the United States of America where he was accepted at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia upon the recommendation of Arturo Toscanini. One year later, he composed Four Canons: four short compositions the lyrics of which are based on Italian love poems from the 15th and 16th centuries. The madrigal-like style of the unison canons testifies to an innovativeness which goes far beyond a simple study work.

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027798 Composed by Jeremy Van Buskirk. Contemporary. Octavo. 22 pages. World Projects Corporation #2989147. Published by World Projects Corporation (A0.1027798). The text for Closer to Home is taken from a hymn written by Norbert Čapek (1870-1942.) Čapek was born in Bohemia and later became the founder of the Unitarian Church in the Czech Republic. Čapek joined the Unitarian Church while living in the U.S. escaping unwanted government pressure over his political and religious views. He also worked to gain U.S. support for a free state of Czechoslovakia. After World War I, he returned to Prague and it’s at this time he founded his church. During World War II, Čapek was accused of treason and sent to the Dachau concentration camp. He was put to death in 1942.The lyrics describe a traveler eager to the return home after a long journey. The journey is full of wonder and as it nears its end the anticipation grows. During the last stanza, Čapek reveals the story traces the traveler's journey through life and werealize how far the they have come.

Choral Choir,Choral (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1396191 Composed by Brendan Graham. Arranged by arranged for solo and SSAA choir by Desmond Earley. Celtic,Irish. 8 pages. Seolta Music Limited #979575. Published by Seolta Music Limited (A0.1396191). Arranged for solo female voice, SSAA choir and piano, this is a song of hope, the hope of a girl to escape the workhouse during the Irish Famine years and to travel to make a new life in Australia. At the time the British Crown was encouraging girls to emigrate as a means to redress the gender balance in the colonies – there were too many men and not enough women. Over four thousand young women took this journey between 1848 and 1850. The composer Brendan Graham expressed his own hope that this song might have significance for the descendants of those girls, many of whom were present at the song’s first performance in 2012 at the Irish Famine Commemoration in Sydney.

Arranged for solo female voice, SATB choir and piano, this is a song of hope, the hope of a girl to escape the workhouse during the Irish Famine years and to travel to make a new life in Australia. At the time the British Crown was encouraging girls to emigrate as a means to redress the gender balance in the colonies – there were simply too many men and not enough women. Over four thousand young women took this journey between 1848 and 1850. The composer Brendan Graham expressed his own hope that this song might have significance for the descendants of those girls, many of whom were present at the song’s first performance in 2012 at the Irish Famine Commemoration in Sydney.

Minus-One Tracks, 5. Rhythm Track, 6. Recording Stems (for those who wish to use their own Digital Audio Workstation).Composed by the Canadian Celtic singer Loreena McKennitt, Mummers' Dance has its roots in a centuries old tradition in which a roving band of costumed actors travels and puts on performances for people throughout the land. McKennitt's lyrics speak of the beautiful natural settings in which these mummers would live and work, and the musical landscape is matched perfectly in this arrangement, featuring both sustained and open sounds and exotic melismatic figures that would normally be played by period instruments. This arrangement features a break-out treble-clef soloist, with some modern reharmonization included to employ the vocal jazz aesthetic, and a polyphonic, wordless development section increases the energy of the piece before it winds down at the end, as if the mummers have moved on to travel to the next village.

Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730418). The Piano Vocal Score (with SA Chorus) New Contemporary Classical Music from American Costa Rican composer James Nathaniel Holland in his masterful ballet adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Snow Queen. Ballet yet to be premiered. Be the first to produce it! Highlights are The Dance of the Evil Snow Sprite and the Distorted Mirror, Innocence and Kai and Gerde's Special Friendship, The Waltz of the Roses ('Think of my love as a Rose'), The Waltz of the Snowflakes (Snowbees), Gerde Morns Kai's Death, The Suite of the Lady of Spring (Tale of the Tiger Lillies, The Dream of the Morning Glories, The Tale of the Snowdrops, the Hyacinth's Tale), The Waltz of the Summer Palace, Dance of the Thieves and Kai's Joyous Dance Finale. Ballet Synopsis: Evil Snow Sprites make a mirror that reflects all that is mean and evil. When it shatters, its splinters drift to the far corners of the world. Gerde and Kai are two poor children who live in Copenhagen in the early 19th Century. They live innocently with their parents and Grandmother and tend a rooftop rose garden. One winter night Kai meets the Snow Queen and a splinter from the mirror enters his eye. The Snow Queen returns and abducts Kai. Although accepted as dead, Gerde deeply feels otherwise and begins her quest to find her friend, traveling through the four seasons, sometimes beautiful and sometimes frightening. The Lady of Spring takes her as an addition to her fantastical garden filled with tales and dreams of the flowers who dwell there. But when Gerde sees the rose on Spring's bonnet she wakes from her enchantment. Her tears spring back the roses who tell her Kai is not dead. She flees from the garden. Gerde grows up in the wilderness and a crow says that he has seen Kai at the Palace of the Queen of Summer. They hurry there to find a magnificent ball in progress. Gerde is introduced to the Kai lookalike but knows something is not right. The Queen of Summer helps Gerde on her way and lends her a coach and gives her a magic red rose that will never fade.As coach searches for Kai, it enters the season of Autumn and is accosted by robber girl and a band of theives. They dance in an rousing, energetic dance taunting her. When the morning comes Gerde tells her fellow captive animals of her quest to find Kai and that all hope is lost. The pigeons finally tell Gerde that Kai was abducted by the Snow Queen many years ago. The robber girl overhears them and has a change of heart letting her go with her reindeer to the far North of the Snow Queen.Gerde finds Kai in the palace of the Snow Queen piecing together the evil mirror. She gives Kai up for dead but leaves the rose of summer beside him. Kai spots the rose and he sheds a tear. The splinter falls out and he completes the mirror. They head back for home to their families were there is a big finale of a beautiful wedding on a late summer day and live happily ever after.YouTube Complete Ballet presentation: https://youtu.be/-zDAJ-Ttw70Composer website: http://lacoronadelossantos.net/jamesnathanielholland.htmlTwo part performance CDs sold separately. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928981 Composed by Traditional Irish. Arranged by Donald A. Mills, 2019. A Cappella,Christian,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 3 pages. Donald A Mills #4804981. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928981). For a service in which the congregation is blessed with the Blessed Sacrament. This traditional Irish hymn may also be appropriate for just about any day of the year, especially so at services before or after St. Patrick's Day. This hymn is for SATB w piano accomp. It may be performed a cappella. Written for quartet, very large quartet, or choir in church, school, or community choral groups. A pianist or organist may play the four parts along with the choir. This hymn is short and may be used as a benediction at the end of a religious service. Of course it is very useful within a choral concert performance of any sort. Just sing it softly when required, sing it sweetly, and your audiences will love it. This traditional Irish blessing is an ancient Celtic prayer. Celtic literature is famed for using images of nature and everyday life to speak of how God interacts with His people. May the road rise up to meet you is about God's blessing for your journey in life - may your walk be an easy one, with no mountains to climb or obstacles to overcome. It alludes to three images from nature - the wind, sun and rain as pictures of God's care and provision: The wind can be likened to the Spirit of God, which helps move you along on rough days. The sun's warmth in the prayer reminds us of the tender mercies of God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven. The soft falling rain speaks of God's provision and sustenance. Finally, we are reminded that we are held safe in God's loving hands as we travel on our journey through life.

Voice and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8492-36E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. Instrument part. 5 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8492-36E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8492-36E). French.Gouvy was known for writing some of the most beautiful melodies of the Romantic period. His style is a combination of German forms and an early French romantic harmonic structure. His writing for the piano in the songs is totally unified in mood and description with the voice, just as the piano is in Schubert’s songs. The equal partnership of the vocal line and piano interact closely to bring the poetry vividly into life with unimaginable artistic heights and unbridled passion. This volume includes Gouvy songs set to 18 poems of Philippe Desportes (1546–1606), and 18 poems of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872). The elements of Romantic love poetry, such as enchanting love and its pain, and the personifying of nature, are fluently described with a great sensitivity in both voice and piano. Gouvy’s melody stir up the imagination because of his special treatment of words through a distinguishable and melodious vocal line, and his story telling and poetic treatment and development of the piano accompaniment. His compositional artistry places him in the upper echelons of art-song composers. One should note that Gouvy had a special fondness for the 16th Century poetry of La Pléiade (a group of Renaissance French poets, led by Pièrre de Ronsard (1524–1585). Desportes was truly the heir to Ronsard; however his work, when compared to that of Ronsard, is filled with greater abstraction and greater fluidity. Desportes seems to avoid any of the passionate anger that is occasionally characteristic of La Pléiade. This may be an indication that Desportes lived in a less distressed time. It also seems necessary to point out that he learned much in his early career by copying and studying the earlier works of La Pléiade. This has led some scholars to label him as a plagiarist, but it is important to realize that all the members of La Pléiade copied from each other when they wished to learn something new, and truly understand the style of the other poets in the group. Gouvy’s only choice of poems from his contemporaries, were the works of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872), a good friend of Gouvy’s. Much of his poetry was strongly political in support of freedom of the individual. He traveled to Leipzig in 1845, but when the authorities discovered a volume of patriotic poems entitled Kelch und Schwert (Chalice and Sword), he fled to Belgium and France. It is at this time that he possibly met Théodore Gouvy. Eighteen poems of Hartmann were translated from German to French by the French poet, Adolph Larmande, of whom very little is known. Pierre Toussaint Adolphe Larmande seems to have been a rather obscure poet and musician. We know that he taught music theory at the Paris Conservatory at the same time Anton Reicha and Michele Carafa were on the faculty. We also know that in 1847 he married an English woman by the name of Marie Caroline Bradley. There are random documents, such as a Certificate of Arrival in London, England, in 1837, but there are no birth and death dates given, and that includes his obituary notice.
