Original work for orchestra, I have reduced all the parts for string quartet. I have shortened the instrumental part of the beginning of the tenor recitative, starting it five measures earlier. Then I introduced the harmonic part of the winds by filling in the measures that these instruments played. In the audio it sounds a piano that plays practically the same as the strings. This score was played this way because the singers could only rehearse once with the quartet, so it gave them more security to hear the sound of the piano, to which the singers are more accustomed. The traditional piano part can therefore be used with this arrangement since neither the structure nor the key has been changed.Â

The download format is easy to read with larger print than many other books for beginners. The set of nine volumes (one is scales only), can also be bought together as a whole (66 pages) or in two parts. In the beginning the violin books concentrate more on the lower strings to enable compatibility across the instruments and it can sound less shrill to the worried parent!

I wrote this piece as I was trying to figure out all the harmonics on the violin on a hot day in June 1999. The first section represents all the cars that I heard in the morning rush hour on their way to work on that hot summer day driving up route 1, route 1A, and route 95. Section A represents all those people busy at work in the morning trying to turn the world upside down. First the melody is right side up, then it is upside down. They're in air conditioned buildings of course! Then the opening section gets played once again, this time representing everyone going out in the hot weather for lunch and to do a few errands as fast as possible. Next comes section B. If one wants to leave out the bottom harmonic at the beginning of the measures 1, 2, & 3, in lines 1, 3 and 4, that makes it a little easier, but it is nice when both notes can be played. This section is work after lunch. It is supposed to go a little slower, for everyone is getting bogged down with to many assignments and they're starting to get exhausted. Then comes the opening section one last time. This time it is rush hour on the way home, and all the errands that must be done, like taking kids to soccer practice, ballet , tap dancing and violin lessons(or whatever) and trying to fix dinner or grab a pizza somewhere in there. Just before getting to the end of the section this time at the sign jump to the coda, and here it can slow down just a little for this is one collapsing at the end of the day when everything is over.

This is a „take another crossroad version of Mozart´s famous Little Night Music, written by Austrian Arranger and Composer Augustin Lehfuss – a wild and funny arrangement for string quartet in a unusual latin style. Everybody knows the triad motive at the beginning of Mozart´s original composition, which reappears several times throughout the piece. The idea was, that the performing quartet, while playing the original work of Mozart – tired of always playing the same classical music – „turns left any time the characteristic motive appears, and switches to the latin version which is sold here. Then it runs wild for a while and enjoys Mozart´s theme in a crazy latin style, bevor, finally disciplinized again, finishes in Mozart´s original ending of his „Little Night Music. From the „turn out of Mozart´s original piece until the original ending the latin arrangement lasts about three minutes . For this arrangement starts with the famous triad motive, it can also be played as a stand alone version, though recognizable for the audience. There are phrasings and dynamics indicated in this arrangement, but every quartet should feel free to choose their own phrasings. After much deliberation I decided these compositions would serve a dual purpose. First, they would be a progression from easy to difficult beginning with Evensong and ending with Theme & Variations; their purpose, to help solidify the student's first position thereby creating a firmer foundation on which to build all remaining positions. Second, they would be 'parlor room' music; entertaining and challenging enough yet readily playable thereby enticing gifted amateurs to get together and run through them merely for fun.

Never think too much about volume (eg pianissimo is quiet and forte is loud), but rather think about the application of the bow (as in softer bowing for pianissimo passages and stronger/heavy bowing for forte passages)and think of the rising and falling dynamics as breathing. Also there are no specific bowings (accept for a down bow at the beginning of each movement). I will leave that to the discretion of the performers so they can decide what works best for their playing styles and technical possibilities (there is no need to follow slurs to the letter providing the slurred passages are smooth as I intend). One more thing is that the software I used doesn't make key changes as visible as I like so I have written a note to indicate said key changes. I hope anyone who plays this receives maximum enjoyment from my composition. Happy music making!

The Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony, is a symphony composed by Ludwig vanBeethoven and completed in 1808. One of Beethoven's few works containing explicitly programmatic content (instrumental music that relates a story or portrays a scene), the symphony was first performed in the Theater an der Wien on22 December 1808 in a four-hour concert.The finale, which is in F major, is in 6/8 time. The movement is in sonata rondo form, meaning that the main themeappears in the tonic key at the beginning of the development as well as the exposition and the recapitulation. Like many classical finales, this movement emphasizes a symmetrical eight-bar theme, in this case representing the shepherds' song of thanksgiving.The coda starts quietly and gradually builds to an ecstatic culmination for the full orchestra (minus storm instruments)with the first violins playing very rapid triplet tremolo on a high F.
