Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1048353 By Ray Charles. By Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell. Arranged by Dan Jones (www.danjonesguitarist.com). Blues,Jazz. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. DanJonesGuitarist #652787. Published by DanJonesGuitarist (A0.1048353). This classic song was composed in 1930 and has become best associated with the single by Ray Charles, recorded in 1960. Ray Charles’ version reached number 1 in the Billboard chart that same year. My solo arrangement is designed for more experienced players. This download gives you a version with just notes and a second with notes and TAB. Both versions also have chord symbols in case players wish to improvise around the sequence. Writers have speculated that the song was written about Carmichael’s sister, named Georgia, but the writer himself state it was inspired by the US state. In 1979 the song was officially designated as the State Song of Georgia. It is perhaps this ambiguity and possible double-meaning of the lyric which make it so alluring. I was introduced to Georgia by a primary school music teacher in the 1970’s. I remember it having a profound impact on me as a child. It is for this reason that I love to play this version for audiences. I usually play the piece from a lead sheet to allow freedom for improvisation, but I felt a published ‘concert’ version may be useful for other players. For a huge range of scores for solo guitar and guitar in ensemble at all levels of learning, please visit www.danjonesguitarist.com A YouTube recording and film will be uploaded before the end of July 2022.

Guitar Tab. 3 pages. PianoSheetNow #6270017. Published by PianoSheetNow (A0.556969). This is My Father's World is a Christian hymn written by Maltbie Davenport Babcock.. When Rev. Babcock lived in Lockport, New York, he took frequent walks along the Niagara Escarpment to enjoy the overlook's panoramic vista of upstate New York scenery and Lake Ontario, telling his wife Katherine he was going out to see the Father's world. He died in 1901 at age 42. Shortly after his death Katherine published a compilation of Babcock's writings entitled Thoughts for Every-Day Living that contained the poem My Father's World. The poem was set to music in 1915 by Franklin L. Sheppard, a close friend of Babcock. The tune name, Terra Beata, means Blessed Earth in Latin.Guitar and voice (Guitar classical or acoustic). Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1177383 By Frederic Chopin. By FreÌdeÌric Chopin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 19th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. Brian Streckfus #776814. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1177383). Key: Changed from B minor to A minorCapo: 2 (If you want original key, but I wasn't a fan of capo 2; it felt like there was no bass notes.)1. Arranged for guitar. 2. Piano pedal markings removed 3. Phrase markings removed and opted for commas. 4. Re-harmonized 5. Key changed from B minor to A minor. 6. Slurs 7. Left hand fingers 8. Tablature9. Harmonics added when advantageous, but playing the regular note would work as well.10. Piano pedal markings removed and replaced with commas. It's a flaw of sheet music that slurs, ties, and phrase markings are all the same symbol, and having all three happening can clutter a score.Compromises This may sound obvious, but of course I had to make some alterations to make this flow properly on guitar. Many of the original chord inversions on the piano were not kept. However, many harmonies were kept intact as far as following the chord nomenclature name. Measure 50 was originally an A minor chord, the irony is that the F major suprise is an homage to Chopin anyways, suprised he didn't opt for it. To be honest, I don't like how there is a perfect authentic cadence in measure 50. I think modern audiences would want to clap too badly, so I believe that ending needs to be slightly messed up to propel the music forward, and give a sense that there is still a problem. The other chord that was changed was an E7b9 to a Ddim7 in measure 78. If you know your theory well, you'll realize these chords have the same exact function and nearly the same notes, it's just that Ddim7 flowed a bit better on guitar. I'd rather have guitarists play the rhythms correctly and with musicality, than have guitarist clunkily go though overly large chords in order to mantain historical accuracy. Measure 15 was hard to keep the original chord intact. A Bb/D with a G in the melody as a suspension sounds more like a g minor chord. That is cliche Chopinesque neopolitan moment so the Bb is crucial to mantain. Having some rough sort of Bbmaj7 or G minor chord while mantaining the melody seemed to sound the best even though the name of the chord might have gotten a little off. I tried chord charts, but they seemed messier than what it was worth. I also could have the denser tablature in the sheet music, but that does make it look 10x more intimidating. So this version is unique in that the tablature is my denser arrangement, whereas the sheet music would allow someone to quickly make a new arrangement. I like this ethos because most guitarists are likely to be much better at playing chord quickly when they don't have to have an exact voicing. This makes this arrangement easier to further perfect since I am naming the harmonies, which often isn't done in classical music.BackstoryThis is one of my favorite pieces, and also my favorite composer. I feel classical guitar repertoire is lacking easily playable music in the romantic style. Often, if it is romantic guitar music, it is extemely difficult and therefore only a select few can enjoy performing it. Also, I sometimes get my hopes up to find a romantic guitar composer, but then after listening, there's nothing quite like Chopin. Obviously, you will have to have some chops to play this since it's one of the most ambitious undertakings a guitarist could take, but it's also not so hard that you have to be train for a decade because I changed the key.

Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1181680 By Frederic Chopin. By FreÌdeÌric Chopin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 19th Century,Contemporary,Instructional,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #781456. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1181680). Disclaimer: This is a two page excerpt with mostly only the beginning and end of the original piece. This is still a work in progress, the middle section is going to be difficult, if not impossible on guitar. Some may see this as more of an homage to Chopin rather than a historically accurate version. That being said, both this arrangement and the original are incredible pieces of music, and it may be my favorite piece of all time, and I think jaws would drop if the average person hears a guitarist effortlessly playing Chopin as if it was meant for guitar. 1. Arranged for guitar. 2. Guitar Tablature added. 3. Key changed 4. Notes removed and and inverted chords changed to be idiomatic for guitar.5. Slurs added. 6. Chord nomenclature added. 7. Piano pedal and phrase markings are a bit unnecessary for a guitarist so they are not included. Slurs and ties are more important for a guitarist, so I don't want a ton of swoops symbols obscuring slurs and ties. As with the other Chopin arrangement I made, I want super romantic music while making sure it isn't super difficult to play. If I wanted a super hard version, I would just find the public domain version and read treble and bass clef in a difficult key for free. There could also be a lot more mantaining of historical accuracy if this was arranged for a 7 or 8 string guitar. Having a low E and Eb would really changed the trajectory of the arrangement. Sure a guitar can play an Eb chord, but it always sounds too high pitched, when really the original has a low powerful bass note as the music inflects a different key. So that's why I took some liberty with the bass notes for guitar. It's incredibly grimy sounding even though A minor isn't typically seen as a dark and low key.Tips:1. A Bb chord in the key of a minor is an example of a Neopolitan chord, named after a city in Italy. This is one main essence of Chopin, and constantly using them allows him to really toy around with the key and suspense. To Do:1. Measure 10 is glitched out. Sorry. It is correct in a way but it is strangely spaced. It is a challenge because at times it looks like measures have the incorrect amount of beats, but I think Chopin's freedom of rhythm is the reason why, and bizarre triplets and quintuplets are being forced into the measure. 2. Combination version without tab?3. The full piece?4. Add rhythm to tab?

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.906596 Composed by Dan Hopson. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. Dan Hopson #18279. Published by Dan Hopson (A0.906596). This quirky piece resulted from a day hike with my daughter and our encounter with a common plant called twistedstalk or wild cucumber. I commented that the name would be a cool one for a band, but later wondered what a twistedstalk guitar piece would sound like. Hence, the twisted nature of this piece. The plant itself is quite attractive, though, so I worked in a more melodic middle section for contrast. Other than a couple of right hand harmonics, it's not difficult to play - actually quite fun if the tabulature and fingerings are followed closely.

Solo Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1364971 By Christopher J. Malin. By Christopher J. Malin. Arranged by Christopher J. Malin. 20th Century,Blues,Contemporary,Jazz,Pop. Individual part. 1 pages. Christopher J. Malin #949269. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1364971). My first original work written out in standard notation and tablature. Originally written in 2017 and played out many times. I had help correcting some of the note value/rest timing. It's correct and meant to be played as written now. Please pay close attension to the rest values. It gives the music a breathing feel if you will.I would call it my personel musical language. The title comes from me asking a pro highly respected local musician, which is the saddest key to play in? He said D minor, hense the name. Of course it could be transposed to any key. Also my tablature is the way it evolved while playing it. I feel particularly, that the turn-around sounds best played in tha 5th fret position. It was written as a solo guitar piece but it could be the head for any minor key blues played with other musicians. I hope you will enjoy it. I certainly do! Thank you!

Easy Guitar (with TAB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370027 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Singer/Songwriter. Tablature. 6 pages. Brian Streckfus #954402. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1370027). I created this to make learning the most common chords on guitar easier. Learning chords on guitar is quite difficult; fret numbers are quite arbitary to what the chord is. There are patterns to follow, but they are buried in a convoluted foggy swamp. The tuning of guitar strings essentially puts the music theory in a blender and one has to study for a long time to decode it. It is my hope that this PDF will shine some light on how chords are built, and why some of them have a lot of clarity in how they are working, and why others seem completely random. This PDF shows chords that commonly happen in pop music, so it is by no means an exhaustive list. For knowing how to use chords, see my chord progression generator uploads.Tips:1. There is redundacy for a reason; this pdf shows multiple ways of playing the same chord.2. The first two pages are for the music theory purists in that there is hardly ever an uneccesary note to mantain the name of the chord. This is useful for understanding what notes are needed for a chord (it's a cliche for guitarists to have overly large chords).3. Pages 3 and 4 are the famous voicings. 4. Pages 5 and 6 are the bar chord versions. These versions are physically harder to play, but they can add a lot of clarity and simplicity to your playing (the famous voicings on pages 3 and 4 are seemingly random). They are much easier to slide to any key you want and much easier to see similiarities and patterns between chords.
