This piece was written in the Classical style because accordion as it exists today just didn't exist in the time of Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven, which is why accordionists have always had to perform transcriptions of these composers' works. But now with this work, accordionists have their own original composition in the Classical style that is very reminiscent of the works of those composers and represents a challenge to any accomplished free bass accordionist.

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.507108). Hélène de Montgeroult was born into an aristocratic family in Lyon and studied piano with Nicolas Joseph Hüllmandel and Jan Ladislav Dussek. She married the Marquis de Montgeroult who died as an Austrian prisoner in 1793. Reportedly it was respect for her compositions that allowed her to survive the French Reign of Terror. A set of improvisations on La Marseillaise, performed for the Committee of Public Safety, earned her her freedom after she was imprisoned in the Revolution due to her aristocratic background. After her husband's death, Montgeroult took a position at the new Paris Conservatoire in 1795, the first female professor ever to be appointed there and taught for two years. She is considered to be an important bridge between the Classical and Romatnic styles. She died in 1836 in Florence, Italy. Recorded for Grand Piano by Nicolas Horvath.

Like the previous movement, the second part is contrapuntal but it differs in its extensive use of the dialogue between the horn and trumpet. In performing the sonata, there should be balance among the brass instruments and the organ in regard to sound intensity and the speed. The trumpet tends to overpower the horn in passages marked f or louder, and the organist may adjust the registrations to keep the sound from overpowering the other two instruments. If this piece were to be performed in large concert halls or churches, the time that takes air to leave the organ chest to the pipes may be longer. Choice of speed should be rehearsed carefully. The organ registration itself is merely a suggestion and should not be taken too literally due to the design of the organ and the acoustics of the hall or church. Sonata For Trumpet, Horn And Organ is suitable for concert use. This work may be performed at any time of the year, especially Christmas, Post-Easter and general use.

Schadl (A0.912493). Written in two movements for trumpet, horn in F and organ, the work starts with a slower introduction that is written in the key of B major, the dominant key of E major. Moreover, the first movement has imitative passages that are present in all the three instruments. Following the first movement that is written in the 4/4 time, the next movement, composed in the 6/8 time and in E major, is performed gracefully in a style of a pastorale. Like the previous movement, the second part is contrapuntal but it differs in its extensive use of the dialogue between the horn and trumpet. In performing the sonata, there should be balance among the brass instruments and the organ in regard to sound intensity and the speed. The trumpet tends to overpower the horn in passages marked f or louder, and the organist may adjust the registrations to keep the sound from overpowering the other two instruments. If this piece were to be performed in large concert halls or churches, the time that takes air to leave the organ chest to the pipes may be longer. Choice of speed should be rehearsed carefully. The organ registration itself is merely a suggestion and should not be taken too literally due to the design of the organ and the acoustics of the hall or church. Syncopation and dotted rhythms throughout. Gb rather than F# so the modulation is to Bb minor, and not A# minor! Ouch... The tempo is sprightly, without being rushed or frantic. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1004707). String Quartet No. 1 in A minor, op. 12 (1999), a cyclic composition in Neo-Classical style, partly influenced by Romanian folk music, Shostakovich and Bartok. Its compositional language, while not avant-garde and not exceedingly difficult, might help students with some aspects of modern music and liberties taken with classical forms. The first movement (Larghetto - Allegro non troppo) presents first dramatically and mysteriously the core motifs and themes of the entire composition, followed by a surprisingly relaxed sonata movement in the relative key of C major. The following Scherzo (Allegro assai), in E major, plays humorously and vigorously with derived motifs, and the third movement (Adagio assai), in F sharp minor, is treated in variations on the Romanian Christmas carol La Vitleem colo jos ('Down at Bethlehem'). The dramatic and expanding sonata form of the fourth movement (Allegro con brio - Larghetto) returns finally to the A minor of the introduction, then dissolving into the transcendent, slow coda. Allegretto.Beethoven's Bagatelles Op. 33 are pretty typical of his early style, retaining many compositional features of the early Classical period.  The first bagatelle is arguably one of Beethoven's most well-known pieces. While they may seem light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously, they are still well-crafted works that embody the younger Beethoven's style. The Bagatelles Op. 33 were composed by Beethoven in 1801-02 and published in 1803. Bagatelles are shorter and less complex than sonatas, often consisting of a single movement. They were intended to be played as light entertainment or as encores at the end of a concert.Beethoven's Bagatelle No. 3 of Op. 33 showcases the composer's evolving style. Bagatelle No. 3 is in ternary form, with a lively and playful A section in F major that features a chromatic mediant relation. The A section is characterized by a rhythmic motif that is repeated throughout the piece, while the B section develops a lyrical melody that modulates briefly to the dominant: C major. The piece ends with a return to the A section, which is played with slight variations. Overall, Bagatelle No. 3 is a charming and delightful piece that showcases Beethoven's mastery of form and his ability to create memorable melodies.

The 2nd (D minor) is mostly in the style of a [Chopin] mazurka. The 3rd (in F sharp) is by far the fastest although not necessarily the most difficult. They are all of a medium-to-advanced level for piano.
