Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided.Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, this song is playable by any 13-note, C to C chromatic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel. The melody could also be played by a recorder.This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Published by Musica Nova USA (A0.917404). Three Pieces for Tuba Ensemble is a collection of three pieces that were composed at different times for different occasions. This set makes up a good suite for concert performance. Although listed as a tuba ensemble compositions, euphoniums usually play the higher two parts. All three are written in five parts. Optional substitute parts for French Horn and Flüglehorn are also included in this set, as well as euphonium parts in treble clef.Salutation Fanfarewas composed in 1985 for performance at the New York Brass Conference at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. That year, famous tubist Harvey Phillips was being honored at a special concert. This piece started the concert with the composer conducting an ensemble of about twenty euphonium and tuba players made up of Indiana University alumni, free-lance musicians and other friends of Mr. Phillips. The piece is based on the phrase Harvey Phillips Mr. Tuba. Simple Giftsis a traditional American folksong that has been arranged by many composers over the years. This arrangement was done in 1990 for performance at the International Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association Conference held in Sapporo, Japan. It was premiered by the Colonial Tuba Quartet that year. It has been arranged in four parts as well as this arrangement in five parts.Octubafest Polkawas composed in 1976 at the request of Harvey Phillips for performance at the Octubafest activities at Indiana University. It was premiered by the Indiana University Tuba Ensemble that year, conducted by Harvey Phillips. Mr. Phillips was the first to use the word Octubafest, probably in 1974 or 1975. Octubafest celebrations have taken place at many schools and universities ever since, usually in the month of October. He said that having an Octubafest celebration early in the school year provided an opportunity for new students entering college to get to know each other. At Indiana University during Harvey Phillips’ tenure (1973 – 1996) the Octubafest concerts were always followed by a party at Harvey’s house, making for a good time for all. Gregory Fritze is a prize-winning composer and Fulbright Scholar, as well as an active performer and conductor. He recently retired from Berklee College of Music where he was Professor and Chair of Composition, serving on the faculty from 1979 to 2016. He has written over ninety compositions for orchestra, band, chamber ensembles and soloists. He has won over sixty composition awards both nationally and internationally, including First Prize in the 1991 TUBA International Etude Composition Competition, for his Twenty Characteristic Etudes for Tubaan important part of the tuba pedagogy repertoire. His compositions include works published by several publishers in the United States, South America and Europe and have been performed extensively throughout the world. He has been a frequent traveler to Spain since 1993 and has promoted compositions by Spanish composers around the world. He is the only composer who has been commissioned six times by Spanish bands for Certamen competitions, with each band winning first prize. He has thirty-three compositions commercially recorded on Albany Records, MSR Classics, Crystal Records, Mark Records and others. He has been a guest lecturer, conductor and performer at many colleges, universities and music festivals in the United States, Canada, Japan, South America and Europe. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1954 and has Composition degrees from the Boston Conservatory and Indiana University. He now resides in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

This collection contains 10 familiar Christmas carols arranged for a one octave, 13-note chromatic scale Boomwhackers® choir with Piano accompaniment. For each song, the Piano provides an introduction then the Boomwhackers® play the melody and occasional 2-part harmony. Each song also includes an optional repeat and final ending in case a longer song is desired. For each song, there is a combined score with both instruments (Boomwhackers® and Piano) on a grand staff plus a separate color-coded score for the Boomwhackers®. The color-coded Boomwhackers® score uses the Chroma-Notes™ Colored Music System. If you have a set of tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the Boomwhackers® match this color scheme. A color-coded note chart is also provided for each song which shows the Boomwhackers® notes used as well as the number of times each note is played. The note distribution is helpful when assigning notes to whackers. You may want to assign fewer notes to beginners or evenly distribute the tubes between all whackers. The color-coded scores are enlarged so the colors are easier to distinguish and all sharps and flats are displayed (shown in the key of C) as reminders for beginning musicians. Also, only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see. The number of whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Note assignment suggestions are included for each song and range from 4 to 8 whackers. These familiar Christmas carols are perfect for small groups and especially beginning musicians. Most songs can be performed with as few as 5 people (4 whackers and 1 piano player). The Piano accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. This is the thirtieth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all  volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. In order to determinate both dimensions I used the program I-Ching by Andrew Culver (assistant to John Cage in the '80 and '90), a program that is distributed as shareware in internet (thanks). The colour version follows the following criterion: - (a) prime numbers (see green) - (b) multiples of 3 (red) - (c) all other numbers (blue) ...if it ends up being good music then what matter the procedure involved? (David Cope, New Music Composition, p. 117) About the expression los ñoquis del 29: The Italian word gnocchi (gnocchi is plural of gnocco, which meaning is lump) is used in Spanish often as ñoqui or ñoquis. In the RÃo de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) are traditionally eaten on the 29th of each month, the day before payday, when people has less money. This tradition is called los ñoquis del 29 - the gnocchi of the twenty-ninth. There are naturally other versions. The most picturesque comes from a legend of the VIIIth century (or even IIIrd century). A young physician called Pantaleon (Panteleimon) lived in Nicosia (Cyprus), who after converting to Christianity, journeyed through the North of Italy. There he practiced miraculous healings due to which he was canonized. In a certain occasion, he asked some Venetian villagers for bread, and they invited him to share their poor table. Grateful, he announced them a year of excellent fishing and harvest. The prophecy was fulfilled. Saint Pantaleon was consecrated –along with Saint Mark– patron of Venice. That episode occurred on a 29th, for this reason that day is recalled with a simple food represented by gnocchi. The accompanying ritual of putting money below the dish represents the yearning of new gift. Outside the culinary realm, certain Argentine and Uruguayan functionaries are dismissively called ñoquis, because they only go to work at the end of the month, to justify their salary or simply to cash in for a not fulfilled work. This meaning was spread since the 1970's.
