The song is about Sheeran's close friend and laments a stillborn baby five months into the pregnancy. This arrangement is a combination Ed Sheeran’s guitar part and the bass part to give a complete accompaniment for one guitar. The original key was G minor but here it is in E minor an easy key to use on the guitar, if you want G minor simply use a capo at the 3rd fret (which is what Ed Sheeran nearly always does to find the best key for his voice).

It appeared on their album 2 Years On, and was released as a single, becoming their first Top Five hit in the US, peaking at number three in the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number one in the Cashbox and Record World charts. Barry Gibb later re-recorded the song with country quartet Little Big Town for his 2021 album Greenfields.On Friday, 21 August 1970, the three Gibb brothers announced they would reunite and start recording together, nearly 16 months after Robin quit the group. They said later that they wrote Lonely Days and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart at their first reunion session, but the exact day when they recorded the song is unknown. However, a tape of stereo mixes received at Atlantic in October bears the tantalizing notation August 20, 1970 which, if true, means the brothers announced the reunion the day after it happened. According to Robin Gibb in a 2001 Billboard interview with the Bee Gees, That was written on Addison Road in Holland Park in London, in the basement of Barry's place.This song was sung by all three together to Maurice's piano and bass and Bill Shepherd's string and horn arrangement, the slow verses contrasting with the pounding chorus. 'Lonely Days' was written in ten minutes. It was that quick. I was at the piano ten minutes. Barry revealed later in 1998, A manager we had about five years back heard 'Lonely Days' in a restaurant and he said to a friend, 'That's one of my favorite Beatles songs' And he was managing us!Well, beyond the Covid-19 pandemic, brass quintets would want to re-unite. What better way than to play a shortened version (for the fragile chops) of Lonely Days... Enjoy!

The handbell part is not difficult (probably rated a Level 2 by handbell standards) and could be easily achieved by most groups. Ensembles attempting this piece should try to play the bells in a more lyrical/less percussive style to get the best result. P.L. Grove decided to arrange this piece shortly after the suicide death of Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington. There have been many suicides in subsequent months, and mental health is a key topic of concern. This song shines a light on the issue of suicide and reminds us that we should continue to care. Velocity Handbell Ensemble is performing this piece at its 20th anniversary concert in May 2023 and may be able to post a video on its YouTube channel.

This famous piece by Mozart was composed only six months before his untimely death in 1791. Mozart wrote this on commission while working on the Magic Flute. Program this for Lent or Easter meditations or any Christian communion service. Also, this would be a strong recital encore showing mastery of phrasing, tone quality, and dynamics.Ave verum corpusFirst, Mozart composed a most noteworthy motet in Latin, Ave verum corpus. This translates in English as Hail, the actual body. The motet is undoubtedly listed as K.618 in the Köchel Catalog. This is a chronological catalog of Mozart’s compositions consequently published by Ludwig von Köchel. Seems like Mozart probably composed this motet in the last year of his life. Likewise, he worked on his final opera, the Magic Flute, and his Requiem Mass at the time. Mozart wrote it for the feast of Corpus Christi. He scored it for SATB choir, string instruments, and a small organ. Hence, while the Requiem is a more dramatic work, the motet expresses even more the Eucharistic thoughts with relatively simple means, well-matched for the church choir in a small town.Early YearsWolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791) was a productive and significant Austrian classical composer. Mozart displayed unusual musical capability from his earliest childhood. It seems like he could already play the keyboard and violin at age two. This is the twenty-third volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment.The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view.
