Voice, recorder and percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q42466 Pentatonic. Arranged by Margaret Murray. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orff-Schulwerk - Rhythmusübungen - Kinderreime. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 1. Schott Music - Digital #Q42466. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q42466). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Editions have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of involving their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Murray Edition English adaption, with additional material, by Margaret Murray. Besed on, and containing all the rhythmic and instrumental material from the main five volumes of the original German edition. Contents of this first volume: speech and rhythmic exercises, nursery rhymes, songs, instrumental pieces and melodic exercises using only the five note scale, with instructions and notes. Illustrated.

Beginning, intermediate, and advanced players will enjoy playing the beloved song Bist du bei mir (If You Are Near) from Anna Magdalena's 1525 Notebook. This aria is offered here in a special 300th Anniversary Instrumental Edition in Bb Major with parts for various solo instruments. Two keyboard parts are provided along with parts for Instruments in C, Instruments in Bb, Instruments in Eb, Instruments in F, Viola, Cello/Bassoon, and Bass Clarinet. Originally thought to have been composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, a recent discovery reveals that this song is from an opera by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel (1690-1749). This aria became very popular, which is why Bach's second wife Anna Magdalena, a fine soprano herself, copied it into her music notebook. There is another Instrumental Edition in C Major as well as five editions for voice including the Medium-Low Voice edition which is also in Bb major. Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,Harp,High Voice,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976036 Composed by Lior Navok. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jewish,World. Score and parts. 44 pages. Lior Navok Music #4719303. Published by Lior Navok Music (A0.976036). SPRING CALLS - for Soprano, Flute, Viola, Cello and Harp (2006) DURATION: 10:30 Minutes TEXT: Canticles 2; 1-13 (also known as The Songs of Songs or Shir Hashirim LANGUAGE: Hebrew TEXT CHARACTERS: Latin PROGRAM NOTES: The composer writes about his work: Spring Calls for soprano, flute, viola, cello and harp is a setting of texts from the second chapter of Canticles (Shir Hashirim) book, known also as The Song of Songs. It is one of the five Megilot - sacred scrolls that are part of the Hebrew Bible. Canticles is mainly being read in Passover, the holiday of spring. Its theme is love and rebirth of love, symbolized by the spring. Usually, only one or two lines of Canticles texts are being set to music. However, I had an interest to create a sort of journey as well as a psychological journey of a woman who searches, awaits and discovers her love. The text parallels the awakening of love with the awakening of spring in a most vivid and colorful way. While choosing instrumentation and musical language to with work, the modal, archaic sound mixed with the new was in my vision. Therefore, one can hear colors of certain exotic and primeval instruments such as the sistrum - an ancient Egyptian percussion instrument, dated from 2500 B.C. used mostly for religious ceremonies. Spring Calls was written for Close Encounters With Music, Yehuda Hanani - artistic director. It was generously commissioned by Lola and Edwin Jaffe with deep appreciation to their support. Bass Clarinet,Instrumental Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1309189 Composed by Jason Alder. 20th Century,21st Century,Instructional. Individual part. 51 pages. AMA Editions #898361. Published by AMA Editions (A0.1309189). The most comprehensive fingering chart for contrabass clarinet, with separate charts for Leblanc, Selmer & Eppelsheim extended range contrabass clarinets. It contains over 150 fingerings for each model over a five-and-a-half octave range in quarter-tones from written C3 to Bâ™8.Author's Notes:Following the success of my clarinet and, in particular, bass clarinet quarter-tone and altissimo fingering charts, I have produced new charts for contrabass clarinet. The focus of these has been the extended range low C models produced by Leblanc, Selmer, and Eppelsheim. Due to the non-standardized design and keywork functionality of these instruments, completely separate charts are required for each model. Players with low Eâ™ models such as those by Vito and Leblanc may also find these as a useful starting point to discover necessary fingerings, however, they have not been tested on these instruments. One striking difference of the contrabass clarinet fingering charts to those previously for clarinet and bass clarinet is the lack of quarter-tone fingerings in the chalumeau and clarion registers. The reason for this is that suitable fingerings are just not available in this range. Fingering changes can result in timbral and microtonal changes, but in the contrabass register the pitches are too far away from each for effective true quarter-tone fingerings. If quarter-tones are needed in this range, a combination of fingering, embouchure, and voicing adjustments need to be made. As this introduces far too many personal variables, it is ineffectual to create fingerings for them. The upper register is far more flexible, however, so the quarter-tones begin there.
