The music beautifully captures the plodding journey of a Rag and Bone man's horse as the travel on their collection trip around the streets of Shepherd's Bush area of London in the earl 1960's. Scored lightly for Clarinet, Baritone Sax, Trombone, Guitar and percussion the arrangement tries to capture the battle between the two main characters in the sitcom by splitting between the instruments whilst life and the horse continue to plod on regardless.

Hebrew.This arrangement was commissioned jointly by Brad Spencer, Scott Spencer, and the Washington Men's Camerata and first performed by the Camerata on June 13, 2015, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Naomi Shemer wrote this lovely poem honoring the fabled city, Jerusalem. Its history and mystery are evoked in each verse and in the passionate refrain. At the beginning, Jerusalem is seen asleep, alone, guarding the Temple Wall at its center. Then we picture a deserted, conquered city, empty and desolate. In the third verse, the writer reveals herself as the latest and least of all the notable scribes who have invoked the city, those writers of magnificent Psalms, odes and poems. At the end, people have returned to the city, enlivening its streets and neighborhoods, adding new chapters to its story. Naomi Shemer's music, with its mixture of nostalgia, melancholy, and desire, lifts her verses to memorable phrases: one does not want the song to end. In performing the work, follow the given dynamic markings and allow the song to slowly accumulate dramatic tension, saving the climax for the final refrain. -Alice ParkerDuration: 6:30.

Symphonie Fastnachtique Part 1 (Four Tunes from the Basler Fasnacht, a Swiss Carnival) Der Arabi Nr 1, 2 & 3 (Trad) Wettstein Marsch by Hermann Suter 1870-1926 Arranged by Des McNutty The Basler Fasnacht, known locally in Basel Stadt (CH) as D’ drey scheenschte Dääg (the three loveliest days), is a world-famous carnival where the Zeitgeist animates centuries of tradition. Local folks celebrate together with a good-humoured satire of current events through costumes, masks, poetry and visual art on carnival floats and lanterns. Amongst many other activities, participants decorate the city and open ad-hoc bars to sustain everyone with drinks and characteristic foods, all of which led to the Basler Fasnacht being included on the Unesco Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2017. Central to the whole experience is the music played on the streets, without electronic amplification, by two types of group: Gugge, with brass and percussion and Clique , with piccolos and side-drums made and played according to local custom. Symphonie Fastnachtique, part 1 contains four melodies from the Cliques: Der Arabi Nr 1, 2 and 3, followed by the Wettstein Marsch by Swiss composer Hermann Huber (1870-1926). The melodies in Der Arabi may sound familiar but the chances are that they pre-date their more famous versions. For example, Der Arabi Nr 1 is now better known as The British Grenadiers from the early 1700s but can be traced as far back as the 1560s, when the Basler Fasncacht was already centuries old and the Schweizerpfeife (Swiss Flute), with drums, supplied the de rigueur regimental music for foot-soldiers all over Europe. This version for oboe band is a mixture of original piccolo voicings and indulgence by the arranger. Some of the part for English Horn (or Taille) is based on an optional 4th voice, the Zierstimm. Fasnacht is a glorious celebration laced with a melancholy reflected by the marching tempi of the Cliques: often slower than 90 BPM. A standard march is around 120 BPM. Vyyl Gniege! (Enjoy!)

Although the piece is secular, the use of the symbol of the dove would work well in religious services.The piece involves a two against three rhythm which suggests the difficulties the dove faces flying for peace against the overwhelming odds of war. The .mp3 file is computer generated with choral oohs for the voices. Molly Malone (also known as Cockles and Mussels or In Dublin's Fair City) is a popular song set in Dublin, Ireland, which has become its unofficial anthem.The Molly Malone statue in Grafton Street was unveiled by then Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alderman Ben Briscoe, during the 1988 Dublin Millennium celebrations, when 13 June was declared to be Molly Malone Day. The statue was presented to the city by Jury's Hotel Group to mark the Millennium.On 18 July 2014, the statue was relocated to Suffolk Street, in front of the Tourist Information Office, to make way for Luas track-laying work to be completed at the old location.The song tells the fictional tale of a fishwife who plied her trade on the streets of Dublin and died young, of a fever. In the late 20th century a legend grew up that there was a historical Molly, who lived in the 17th century. She is typically represented as a hawker by day and part-time sex-worker by night. Single-movement work for flute, clarinet, 2 violins and cello. “Pregón†is a Spanish word that refers to the cries of the street vendors, known as “pregonerosâ€, to announce their arrival. They toured the streets of Lima until the first half of the 20th century. Their cries used to be short songs that described the products they sold. There were pregoneros for all kinds of goods, from fruit to potatoes, to drinks of all types. One of the most remembered pregones is the one that advertised a type of sweet roll known as hot revolution, made of sugar, cloves and cinnamon. This piece is based on this tune, mixed with some Peruvian rhythms, like the Marinera and the Peruvian Waltz. In a broader sense, a pregón is an announcement, a proclamation of something good that is coming. Therefore, it seemed very appropriate to me in these times of global pandemic. I hope its light, dance-like character invites people to think of better times to come.
