Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Clarinet,English Horn,Flute,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1268290 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Pop. 17 pages. RayThompsonMusic #860853. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1268290). Arranged standard wind quintet.A Day in the Life is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as the final track of their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the opening and closing sections of the song were mainly written by John Lennon, with Paul McCartney primarily contributing the song's middle section. All four Beatles played a role in shaping the final arrangement of the song.Lennon's lyrics were mainly inspired by contemporary newspaper articles, including a report on the death of Guinness heir Tara Browne. The recording includes two passages of orchestral glissandos that were partly improvised in the avant-garde style. In the song's middle segment, McCartney recalls his younger years, which included riding the bus, smoking, and going to class. Following the second crescendo, the song ends with one of the most famous chords in music history, played on several keyboards, that sustains for over forty seconds. My version of the crescendo for 5 instruments! has chromatic scales played in different note values, over a repeating E on bassoon...it seems to work! The melody is taken by the clarinet, oboe and flute. The mp3 is the end of the middle section, leading into the final verse. The video is the complete piece.

David Oosse #3MpBogApEJXo2CjHcFlSBt. Published by David Oosse (A0.1370954). Key: F major.A Day, A Life is a percussion quartet commissioned by Shawnee Mission High School, KS. This piece has three larger sections, marked by fermatas in between, with each representing its own idea about life, but the composition as a whole has its own story. The first section is to represent they joy of a new life, and is to remind us that an abundance new life enters this world every day. The second reminds us that life comes not without dark times, confusion, disagreement, and struggle, sometimes within a life, sometimes within a day. However, these can be resolved, overcome, and when we do, we are free to enjoy the joys.

Score and parts. 49 pages. DanJonesGuitarist #706980. Published by DanJonesGuitarist (A0.1103705). You Are the Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder Arranged for Guitar Quartet (with Optional Bass) by Dan Jones (www.danjonesguitarist.com) The download of this arrangement offers: • A score in notes and TAB • A score with notes only • Parts with notes and TAB • Parts with notes only • An extra bass guitar part in notes and TAB which can be added or omitted as players wish. Guitar 3 also contains chord symbols for those wishing to have a greater understanding of the harmonic base of the song, or for jazz-style players wishing to play along or improvise. You Are the Sunshine of My Life was released in 1973, the second single from the artist’s iconic 1972 album, ‘Talking Book’. The song made it to number one of the Billboard charts and is a Grammy Award winner. It is, in my opinion, one of the finest pop songs ever written. Its subtle harmonies, seamless modulations and chromatically-altered chords sit easily under a whimsical lyric. It is harmonic genius disguised as a light pop song. I also believe it to be much misunderstood by writers who comment only on the qualities of the vocal performance and production. It deserves its place in any performance of serious art music. This arrangement is suitable for intermediate to advanced intermediate guitarists. A film of a performance will be available by the end of September 2022. Choral Choir,Choral (3-Part Mixed) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1350156 By Stevie Wonder. By Stevie Wonder. Arranged by Stewart J Wallace. Jazz,Latin,Pop,R & B,Soul. 14 pages. Stewart J Wallace #934934. Published by Stewart J Wallace (A0.1350156). You Are The Sunshine Of My Life was released as a single in March 1973 and was Stevie Wonder's third number-one on the Billboard 100 charts. It appears on the Talking Book album along with Superstition. It was nominated for both Grammy Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and ultimately won the Grammy award for best male vocal, although there are other vocalists on the start of the track. The harmonies are both lush and jazzy and the melody line jumps around in the second section. Throughout the performance the rhythms need to be tight and precise, yet also with a laid back quality to the syncopations - don't rush! This arrangement is mostly in 3 parts apart from the coda, where the men can split into tenor and bass parts, and the piano accompaniment can be altered to suit, though an electric piano tone like the recording would work well. The arrangement would suit an intermediate mixed adult or school choir, and there is a vocal score included to help reduce the number of pages for the choir.

Small Ensemble Marimba,Piano Accompaniment,Trumpet,Violin,Xylophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.969531 Arranged by Zachary Damm. Christian,Instructional,Renaissance,Sacred. Score and parts. 5 pages. Digital Print Publishing #2927269. Published by Digital Print Publishing (A0.969531). This arrangement blends Martin Luther’s baptismal hymn with the more familiar dedicational song Take My Life and Let It Be. The staunch tones that begin and conclude the piece transport one to the Jordan River and invite one to think on the meaning of baptism. The middle of the piece provides a pensive meditation upon Christian service. This conductor’s score contains lead, first, and second trumpet parts, a violin part, a xylophone part (or other tuned mallet instrument), and a piano accompaniment. The trumpet parts could be adapted to other brass instruments.

Hand Drum,Handpan,Instrumental Solo,Steel Pan - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.657023 By Sharon Wilson. By Mary A. Lathbury and William F. Sherwin. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Individual part. 10 pages. Sharon Wilson #266111. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.657023). This sheet music is notated for C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (suitable for any 8, 11, or 13-note drum in the key of C). This hymn arrangement can be performed as a solo, as rhythmic chord accompaniment for singing, or as a duet. Four separate scores are provided for maximum flexibility. Whether beginner or experienced musician, these scores can be used in numerous ways from solo playing to playing with a partner or as a group. A note and chord reference chart is included as well as a rhythm pattern chart. Descriptions, suggestions, and uses for each score and chart are detailed on the introduction page and summarized below:Melody ScoreThis score can be played as a solo with or without singing along. Those new to reading standard music notation as well as those already familiar with music notation will find the numbers above the staff helpful. These numbers correspond to the numbers on the Tongue Drum. Lyrics appear below the staff for sing along enjoyment. Harmony ScoreThis score can be used in conjunction with the Melody Score to form a duet by providing the accompaniment (harmony) while someone plays or sings the melody. Note numbers below the staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum. Chord names are shown above the staff for playing a rhythmic accompaniment in place of the harmony accompaniment shown. The chord names can also be used for ensemble playing with other instruments (such as a Ukulele or Guitar).Grand StaffThe Grand Staff score combines the Melody Score with the Harmony Score. This score provides a visual overview of how the two scores line up and is helpful for a director or teacher using this set of scores in a group setting. If playing with a partner (a duet), this score may be easier to use since you both can see what the other person is playing. This score includes note numbers above the melody staff and below the harmony staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum; chord names shown above the harmony staff for ensemble playing with other instruments or for using a rhythmic chord accompaniment; and lyrics between the staves for sing along enjoyment. Advanced Solo ScoreThe Advanced Solo score includes harmony notes along with the melody notes to create a fuller sounding solo which can be played with or without singing along. Numbers corresponding to the numbers on the Tongue Drum are included above the staff.Note and Chord ChartThis chart consists of two separate staff rows. The first staff shows the notes used for the melody. The second staff shows the notes in each chord used in this song. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns. Rhythm ChartThis chart shows four rhythm patterns that can be used as an accompaniment for the melody. Using the Harmony Score or the Grand Staff, follow the chord names to play notes from the given chord using one of the rhythm patterns. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Hymns of Faith for 8-note C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (A collection of 10 Solos and Duets).Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusic

The band was initially composed of keyboardist/lead vocalist, Bryan Duncan, and brothers Kevin (bass guitar) and Rick (drums/vocals) Thomson. The band was the brainchild of the Thomson brothers. Randy Thomas, guitarist/vocalist joined the group around 1976. After their second album, Sweet Comfort Band also became well known for their highly detailed, airbrushed album cover art by Kerne Erickson, a trend that had previously been considered too costly for Christian groups who did not produce the high-volume album sales of mainstream bands such as Kansas. Small Ensemble B-Flat Clarinet,Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028192 Composed by Jeremy Hart. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 37 pages. Jeremy Graham Hart #6590413. Published by Jeremy Graham Hart (A0.1028192). Oscillation began as an experiment in coordination of a melody and harmony which are based on different means of organization. To this end, the clarinet is treated separately from the string quartet. The clarinet melody is constructed by means of limited interval usage. In mm.1–3 it can be observed that the melodic intervals are strictly limited to the use of a major 2nd/minor 7th or a major 6th/minor 3rd. By contrast, the string quartet has no limitation on its intervallic usage but always strives towards triadic harmonies in its accompanimental capacity and tends to converge on harmonies diatonic to the key. In addition, despite the proliferation of non-chord tones and transitionary passages in the string quartets’ music, the stable harmonies are written to have fairly parsimonious motion between them (if one were to reduce out the NCTs etc.) The coordination of these two separate logics is done by the selection of anchor-pitches for the melodic phrases. For example, the melodic phrase in mm.4–7 oscillates around the pitch of G natural (transposed in the score), which it shares with the F major/minor 7th chord that is heard as the harmonic goal of the strings in m.7. The teleology of the work can largely be traced in its melodic construction. Its opening phrase of mm.1–3 is anchored on G natural and ends on a C sharp, a tritone above the anchor, to simulate a half-cadence effect. The second phrase of mm.4–7 is still written on G natural but it ends on G as well, forming the authentic cadence and establishing a basic period as well as the work’s first theme. This is followed by second period which represents a dominant relationship to the first. The phrase at mm.10–13.2 is a rather extended utterance in comparison to the first two and is anchored on D natural. This is followed by 4-stage call and response across the ensemble (excluding the second violin) that leads the first section to a close at m.16 on a C diminished triad. Melodically, the first section is characterised by its limited used of a major 2nd/minor 7th or a major 6th/minor 3rd interval. At m.17, the second section follows much the same process as the first, using anchor pitches as a means of coordination and formal definition, and alternating soloistic clarinet playing with activated harmonies in the strings. The primary difference is in the character of the second section’s theme with regards to its rhythmic profile as well as its intervallic content. Namely, these are limited to the use of a minor 3rd or minor 2nd and their inversions. The second section draws to a close at m.32, returning to the tonic harmony of the key. With the first and second sections complete, the work now proceeds into a developmental section. Mm.33–84 largely consists of development of the two themes by manipulation of intervallic content as well as adjusting the placement of the thematic material withing the accompanimental context. This does include juxtaposition of the two themes (though one typicall becomes integrated into to accompaniment) as can be seen between the violin and viola at m.39. Variety is heightened by the introduction of episodic material such as the secondary melody performed by the clarinet at mm.40–41. The Lento section starting at m.53 introduces further rhythmic and metric adjustment of the thematic content. A varied recapitulation occurs at mm.85–113 and is followed by a coda at mm.114–131.

For percussion octetduration; 11:05crotales / handbells / vibraphone / marimba(4) timpani / roto-toms / sand blocks / (3) flower potsrainstick / claves / (2) bongosboomwhackers (C maj. diatonic set, chromatics set, treble extension set)Dragonfly, Perseverance, and Alvin: three probes exploring very different environments to learn more about our place in the universe.Dragonfly is a rotorcraft expected to perform vertical take-offs and landings on the surface of Saturn's moon Titan in 2034. Titan is a world like our own with oceans, rivers, and lakes. On Titan though, our water cycle is replaced with hydrocarbons, it rains liquid methane, and the surface temperature averages -179 degrees Celsius. The first section of Probe features contrapuntal melodies with a set of roto-toms representing the probe, flower pots representing the possibility of something growing in such a frigid place, and a rainstick representing the potential food source for a hypothetical methanogen. Perseverance will roam the dry, dusty surface of Mars beginning in 2021 drilling and preparing samples that will, for the first time, be returned to Earth. Perseverance will also carry with it a small rotorcraft to prove the ability of flight within Mars’ thin atmosphere. In the second section, tonal harmony is replaced with sandpaper blocks, claves, and bongos with the roto-toms now playing the role of both the secondary rotorcraft and the Martian wind. Alvin has been ferrying explorers to the deepest parts of Earth's oceans and providing insights into the origins of life since the 1970s. The discovery of large tubeworms living in an environment without sunlight, thriving on the energy provided to them by hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor, changed our understanding of how life might thrive in many environments across the universe. The conclusion of Probe features Boomwhackers appearing as tubeworms.

Voice, recorder and percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q47388 Major: Drone Bass-Triads. Arranged by Margaret Murray. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Songs - Orff Schulwerk - pieces. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 2. Schott Music - Digital #Q47388. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47388). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Editions have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of involving their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Murray Edition English adaption, with additional material, by Margaret Murray. Besed on, and containing all the rhythmic and instrumental material from the main five volumes of the original German edition. Contents of this second volume: Songs and pieces using the full major scale. Accompaniments are founded on drone bass with the later addition of simple chords.

A Clarinet,Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1358397 Composed by Juozas ŽileviÄius. Arranged by Kazys DaugÄ—la. 20th Century,Classical. 162 pages. Kazys Daugela #942837. Published by Kazys Daugela (A0.1358397). Juozas ŽileviÄius (1891–1985) was an organist, composer, educator, and researcher in the history of music. In 1919, when graduating from the Petrograd Conservatory, he composed Symphony in F minor, the first Lithuanian composition in this genre. Upon his return to Lithuania in 1920, ŽileviÄius worked in various musical life spheres of the young republic: he took part in the activities of the Society of Lithuanian Art Creators, contributed to the establishment of Kaunas Opera House, worked for several years as the head of the Art Department at the Ministry of Education, prepared the first music curricula for secondary schools and progymnasiums, conducted courses for music teachers, taught at music schools in Kaunas and KlaipÄ—da, published a musical periodical, and initiated the first Lithuanian Song Festival. Musicologist DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ— managed to bring copies of three-movement Nonet for strings and wind instruments from Chicago to Lithuania. ŽileviÄius started writing it in December 1924. The composition was apparently inspired by the Czech Nonet members, working at KlaipÄ—da School of Music, who had been invited by its director Stasys Å imkus from Prague. This was a lively and youthful group that gave concerts all over Lithuania. It amazed audiences with its high artistic level and set an example for students, encouraging them to form various ensembles. The repertoire of the Czech Nonet consisted mainly of works from the Classical and Romantic eras. There were few contemporary compositions, and therefore the Czech Nonet performers turned to composers with a request to write new works for them. They might have discussed the matter with ŽileviÄius with whom they maintained a close relationship, as they did later with Lithuanian composer Jeronimas KaÄinskas.ŽileviÄius finished writing Nonet on 15 November 1926. All three movements were based on the intonations of Lithuanian folk melodies. The first movement (Andante. Allegro moderato) imitatively developed the motifs of the song “Autumn will Comeâ€, while the second one (Andante cantabile) featured fragments of the song I Rode through the Woodâ€, and the third one (Allegro) of the song “Oh, you Bird Cherryâ€. The composition was written professionally, it should have been attractive and interesting for the performers, but, unfortunately, it was never performed. The reasons for this could have been various: disagreements between the director of  KlaipÄ—da Music School, Å imkus, and his deputy, ŽileviÄius, as well a the Czech teachers’ falling into disgrace and starting to resign from their teaching positions in the autumn of 1926. A few years later, ŽileviÄius also resigned from the school: in January 1929 he left for the USA and settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he worked as a church organist. He also brought his Nonet from KlaipÄ—da, hoping that this work would be heard in America. To this end, he found transcribers who made instrumental parts from the score. As it turned out, there were few Lithuanian instrumentalists in the USA, and ŽileviÄius did not have close relations with Americans. Thus Nonet, which the composer regarded as one of his most successful compositions after his Symphony in F minor, sank into oblivion. Thanks to Kazys DaugÄ—la, an opportunity appeared to edit and digitise it after the sheet music of Nonet had arrived in Lithuania. This work reveals the origins of the Lithuanian musical culture, enriches the repertoire of chamber-instrumental ensembles, broadens music education curricula, inks the name of ŽileviÄius, the author of both the first Lithuanian symphony and of the first nonet, in the history of music, and contributes to the preservation and fostering of the Lithuanian musical heritage.by Prof. Dr. DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ—.

Piano Trio,String Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004151 Composed by Matthew Scott Phillips. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Matthew Scott Phillips #3510887. Published by Matthew Scott Phillips (A0.1004151). Throughout the centuries, sundials (a flat plate that marks the time of the day by the shadow of a gnomon which is cast onto it) have been used by civilizations to tell time. Unlike modern clocks and digital watches, in which every single second has its own momentary significance, telling time by sundial is more evolutionary. The seconds, and hours, melt into one another. It is perhaps for this reason that sundials have often been conceived not only as practical time pieces, but as works of art, metaphors, and creations that are inherent expressions of the personality of their creators. Etched in many sundials across the world, in Latin, English, German, and other languages are often found mottoes that reflect the thoughts of the sundial's creator. These mottoes can be fatalistic, humorous, transient, morbid, or serene, and almost always involve the subjects of time, the passing of the hours, life and its brevity, or metaphors involving shadows. Many times these mottoes feature some witticism, such as I only count the sunny hours (since a shadow must be present for a sundial to function). Other times, they can be revealingly existential (We are but shadow), and other times offer advice (Use the hours, don't count them). It is these statements of philosophy, etched in sundials throughout the centuries, that most interests me. I am currently composing a set of movements for piano trio (Piano, Violin, Cello) dedicated to the mottoes found on sundials, and their significance to me. The first movement, subtitled Tempus Edax Rerum (Time devours things) is expansive and attempts a feeling of eternity, into which all seemingly fast moving workings of human beings are inevitably subsumed. For the second movement I am considering the phrase Pereunt et Imputantur (They pass and are counted referring to the hours of the day), and its implication of the way in which time can slip away, whether we observe it or not.

Published by Chicory Music (A0.734613). On October 15, 1951, the very first episode of the I Love Lucy show aired on CBS and became the most watched TV show in the U.S. for four of its seven-year run. Fun trivia about the opening theme song is that during the first season the show opened with their sponsor Philip Morris’ animation of stick figure cartoons of Lucy and Desi climbing down a pack of Philip Morris cigarettes. It was scored with Ferde Grofé’s Jr. The Grand Canyon Suite theme (a composition from 1931).From the second season onwards, the I Love Lucy signature tune we all know so well became the main theme, and one of the most recognizable pieces of music on the planet. It was written by composer Eliot Daniel who cranked it out in an afternoon as a favor to his old Coast Guard buddy Jess Oppenheimer, the show’s producer. Since Daniel still had another year under his exclusive contract to Fox, he asked Oppenheimer to keep his name out of it. Consequently his name does not appear on first or the second season TV credits for what became one of the most popular TV themes. Later, Daniel did seek credit and received royalties from syndicated reruns for the rest of his life. The lyrics were written by Harold Adamson for an episode in the third season in which Lucy believes everyone has forgotten her birthday. So of course Ricky saves the day after a near disaster. This arrangement for Trombone Quartet / Choir plus optional Acoustic Bass and Drum Set parts remains faithful to the original.Performance Time Approx. 1 minute 25 seconds
