It should be posted soon.I took this down a half step so students won't have to deal with horrendous keys (the original is in Eb minor). The quirkiness of the original is captured in the brass hits, representing the turning off of a light switch, which then transitions into an open solo section. Out of the solos comes a short horn soli which quickly transitions into an ending fit for Broadway. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas for 1 piano/4hands up to 6 pianos/24 hands!  This is a multi-level piano ensemble.  If you don’t have 12 pianists – not to worry! The secondo part for piano 6 is the most difficult part and can be used as an accompaniment part to whatever combination of pianists you do have. If you only have 2 pianists, you can use piano 6 as a duet. If the primo part for piano 6 is too difficult, you can use a primo part from another piano, but may need to switch octaves to make it all fit on one keyboard. Many of the parts have minimal hand movements and can be combined on different pianos, but you may need to switch octaves for one or both pianists to make everything fit.A word about percussion – My studio has a variety of classroom/percussion instruments that we make use of for ensembles. If you don’t have the exact same percussion instruments that I do, feel free to substitute whatever you do have for the rhythms. It is also possible to add clapping, snapping, or tapping on the piano/keyboard to add the percussion rhythms. For the boomwhackers, you can use any ‘C,’ ‘D,’ or ‘G’ you have and the octave caps make it even more fun! My students enjoyed using the extended bass range boomwhackers with the octave caps to make the pitches even lower and more hippo-like. ☺What's included?  A score with all 12 parts, 12 individual parts (2 pages per pianist) with standard notation and my suggested fingering, and 12 individual parts (2 pages per pianist) with alphanote notation and my suggested fingering.  Parts range from beginner to intermediate!  I hope your piano ensemble and/or group class enjoys this festive arrangement.  Merry Christmas!

Even young people today say they have grown up with Gilligan’s Island. This arrangement is a Level 3 piece for 3-6 octaves of handbells, with several key changes as the theme goes up by half steps. The bass clef parts are mostly malleted, but the trebles will need to switch bells every 10 measures.It's a very short piece, coming in at just over one minute long, but it is very familiar and nostalgic, sure to be a favorite among both ringers and audiences. Appropriate for community and school handbell groups.(Reproducible for one ensemble).

A fun, upbeat, and driving cheer for a solid trombone section. This cheer is guaranteed to hype up the crowd at any football or basketball game.Trombone 3 introduces the main motif of the cheer, with the low marching bass drum accompanying in the background. Trombone 4 adds a driving bassline, and then we enter the main chorus. The drumline is accompanying the trombones with a nice groovy beat.We enter the solo section, where a soloist can wail out a Bb minor blues improv solo, following with a mention of the main chorus. Each time the music calls for a solo, you can use the same soloist, switch off soloists, or even have a new soloist each time.Following the solos, we go into a final blow of the main chorus.-For repeats, you can skip over them, follow them, or even add more repeats. -If you want to play this cheer but there aren't enough trombones in your band, then it's entirely possible to change parts to fit your band accordingly (for example, tuba can play the trombone 4 part, euphoniums can play the trombone 3 part, etc.).

On the text Cum vix justus sit securus (When only barely may the just one be secure), there is a switch to a homophonic segment sung by the quartet at the same time, articulating, without accompaniment, the cum and vix on the strong (1st and 3rd), then on the weak (2nd and 4th) beats, with the violins and continuo responding each time; this interruption (which one may interpret as the interruption preceding the Last Judgment) is heard sotto voce, forte and then piano to bring the movement finally into a crescendo into a perfect cadence. My arrangement gives the trombone part to the first horn, and the vocal entries are given to the 4 wind instruments (All Player 1) I have added some additional sustaining notes on the horns, under the syncorpated section. Section III of the requiem is titled “Sequenz†(sequentia or sequence). It is made up of the following pieces I have arrangements of all of them, for varying types of ensemble * Dies irae * Tuba mirum * Rex tremendae * Recordare * Confutatis * Lacrymosa I have also arranged Mozarts Motet “Ave Verum Corpus†K618.

The original version of E Toro nga Hau: The Three Winds was written for oboe, clarinet and bassoon in 2001 and premiered by the Eastwind Trio d’Anches (the faculty reed trio from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with the composer on bassoon) during a tour in New Zealand and Australia in May 2001. The premiere of the version for saxophone trio was performed by members of the Red Clay Saxophone Quartet on February 5, 2008.E Toro nga Hau: The Three Winds was inspired by the Australasian tour and my return home to New Zealand as a performer. Another inspiration was that my dear Grandmother passed away at the age of 94 in February 2001. Due to this there are elements of sadness and happiness throughout the piece. The bittersweet first movement begins melancholy, with a melody that freely switches between minor and major modes, but ends up with a lively dancing section focusing on happy memories, where the chickens from my grandmother’s farm may even be heard. The second movement is lively throughout with extensive use of mixed meter and includes a jazz rock interlude.While the work does not contain any actual New Zealand elements in the music, it was evocative of my time spent there growing up. It is in a style typical of my writing, containing jazzy influences combined with the more traditional. The title is given in Maori (the language of the native Polynesian race in New Zealand) and English and merely relates to the fact that it is written for three woodwind instruments. This work has been performed throughout North America and the South Pacific.This work also exists in two double reed versions: one for oboe, English horn, and bassoon, and another for oboe and two bassoons.

SerapeÌs Nos. 1, 4 and 7 (subtitled Three Brothers) divide up the collection symmetrically as all three share variations of the same set of motivic layers. Nonetheless, despite their common genetic heritage, the three brothers all have radically different personalities. SerapeÌ No. 2 is called Burro for its loping cowboy-swing. Its seemingly infinite upward-spiraling progression through succeeding tonal centers reminds one of the mules on the switchbacks of the Grand Canyon. SerapeÌ No. 3, Starry Night, employs one of Korneitchouk's favorite devices of combing complex order out of chaos. Overlapping melodic patterns in 7/8, 8/8, 9/8, 10/8, 11/8, and 13/8 emerge -- three at a time -- out of constellations of apparently random notes. The brutal SerapeÌ No. 5, L.A. Smog, is rude. This SerapeÌ starts as a sonorous block of jackhammer intensity that later reveals itself to be in a very brisk 5/8 meter. In contrast, SerapeÌ No. 6 is the most peaceful and static SerapeÌ. It includes a musical portrait of the composer's refrigerator turning itself on and off in the dead of night. A drone, which suggests the 60-cycle hum of the refrigerator, anchors the subtle shifting and overlapping harmonies of the piece.

Reflective and subdued, the interplay between Stevens’ piano and Iimori’s oboe is effortless and flowing. Autumn Wind picks up the pace a bit, but continues the easy flow, bringing images of leaves swirling. Signs of Winter is a bit darker and more mysterious. Iimori is a big fan of Paul McCandless, and that musician’s influence is very strongly heard in these first three pieces - a very good thing! In Clouds, Iimori switches from oboe to English horn. This duet with the piano is a dramatic musical depiction of the gathering clouds and anticipation of a coming thunder storm. I really like it a lot! Snow is tranquility set to music. Sparrow’s Song brings us to the beginnings of spring - the freshness in the air, and the joyful songs of birds in the yard. July reflects the laziness of a hot summer day. Season’s Reprise brings together the themes from the various seasons, creating a lovely closing to the Suite.
