A first version of the song was released in 1964 on the album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., it is an acoustic version. But their producer recorded an electric version without their knowledge the following year, it was part of the eponymous album published in 1966. The song then enjoyed immense success. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score.
