An arrangement of seven pieces from the Renaissance era by Tielmann Susato and John Dowland, for classical guitar quartet along with soprano, alto and tenor recorders. I have played these pieces in public performances, with three classical guitarists and myself playing either classical guitar or one of the recorders. Optionally the whole group could be played with four guitarists and a fifth member playing the different recorders. Additionally, my group has also included my wife playing some light ad-lib parts on bodhran (Irish-style hand drum), tambourine, and finger cymbals. Please also check out some of my other arrangements on Sheet Music Plus for classical guitar solo, and also duos for guitar with flute or voice : http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/john-pinno-sheet-music/3002745 The way I've performed these pieces, including myself and three guitarists: The Allemande gtr 1 part is played with tenor recorder playing the gtr 1 line down an octave, as shown in the tenor rec part, and on repeats, while the tenor rec. is not playing, the gtr 3 player plays the gtr 1 part, leaving the third gtr part unplayed, or the tenor recorder could play it. The Ronde in D minor is for gtr qt only On the Ronde in F major, I played the top part on an alto recorder. The Ronde and the Hupfauf are basically the same tune, but with different time signatures. On the Hupfauf I played the the gtr 1 part and there was no recorder part. For the Hoboeckentanz I played the gtr 1 part from the provided alto recorder part, which is a plain and then ornamented version. On the Ronde in C major I played the gtr 1 line on soprano recorder. The last piece in the group, Now O Now I Needs Must Part, either the soprano recorder plays the gtr 1 part through the whole tune, or alternates with one of the guitarists, as shown in the part for soprano and gtr 1.For any questions, concerns, etc. email John Pinno at jpinno093@hotmail.com

Apart from the sheer quality of the music, it is notable as the first publication of English music scored specifically for strings and for lute, and the first to have used the table layout for consort music.There are seven Lachrimae pavans, which are variations on the theme that Dowland had already made famous as a lute solo and a song (“Flow my tears”).The “divers other” compositions are: two almans (“almands”), nine lively galliards (“galiards”), two sombre pavans, and a “funerall.” There are 21 pieces in all and I have divided them into three books, retaining the original ordering of the pieces. Three numbers in popular style for two alto saxes and piano (or alto and tenor) with optional part for guitar and/or bass.These pieces are in jazz and Latin styles and are intended for intermediate students. They’re ideal for an end-of-term concert or recital but would be useful for any festive occasion or celebration. The 13-page piano score also includes the saxophone parts. The highest note in the 1st sax part is (written) C6 and that in the 2nd sax part is A6. Both parts avoid low D and C. Five-page parts for the two E flat alto saxophones are provided as well as an optional part for tenor sax, which is exactly the same part as the 2nd saxophone. In the piano parts the improvisation chords are shown only in the 1st alto part purely for the sake of visual tidiness, but they appear in all the saxophone parts so that any participant can offer an improvised solo. The guitar and bass parts are combined and the bass part is similar to the left hand of the piano part. All five parts are presented in a single PDF file. Hit the Town This is an entertaining swinger in the concert key of E flat and 4/4 time. It uses “jazz†eighth notes (quavers) and would be good introduction to playing in a jazz style. The improvisation section can be repeated as often as required. 2. Cool company A slow number in F major in a Latin-American style, this gives the opportunity to practise a soft singing tone-quality. There is one short section for improvising. 3. Freeway Written in 3/4 time in B flat, this jazzy waltz also uses “jazz†eighth notes (quavers) and the improvisation section can be repeated as often as required.

However, in his quest to find titles other than tempo markings, Cruz plucked three words from the correspondence between himself and McWilliams that together, add a personal touch to the collection while suggesting a progression of an imaginary day’s events.A point of interest in the first movement, A theme: Cruz begins on the IV chord and intentionally avoids using a proper I chord throughout. While the B section does begin in the dominant key, it moves quickly towards a D major tonal center.Festival (3rd movement) uses a bitonal opening theme: E major in the top voice while the bass line uses E minor.

The opening theme is followed by three variations and includes detailed fingerings in standard notation with TAB for ease of learning. We’re really excited to present our collection of sixty of the best-loved hymns ever composed, presented in three books. Arranged for violin, cello and piano they are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing. To make the music accessible to less experienced string players, the range of the notes has been kept fairly low so that many of the arrangements can be played in first position, though more experienced players would probably want to avoid open strings. The cello part does not follow the bass but instead plays an independent tenor line using to the mid to upper range of the instrument. The top note in the cello part is the F sharp above the bass clef. The piano part has been kept as straightforward as possible with the left hand playing the bass part. To extend the possible uses of this collection, there’s also a melody part printed in the bass clef, an octave lower than the violin part. This could of course be used for cello solo or indeed for any other bass clef instrument. Included in the 50-page PDF file is an optional bass part which follows the piano left hand and could be used for string bass or bass guitar. With such a small ensemble, a conductor is hardly necessary and to save on costs the pianist reads from the score. For this reason, the piano part in the score has been slightly enlarged. Score and individual part. 20 pages. Zellev Music #878068. Published by Zellev Music (A0.1287061). Hans Haug (1900-1967) was a Swiss composer and conductor, mainly of operas and theatrical music. He also became known as a composer for the classical guitar.In December 1950, Haug's Concertino for Guitar and Chamber Orchestra won a prize at a composition competition for guitar at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. It was Haug's first guitar composition. The prizewinners were promised that Segovia would premiere their pieces in the summer of 1952 and that they would be published afterwards by Schott of London. Whereas this promise was kept in the case of Tansman's Cavatina (Schott published it in 1952), Segovia never played Haug's Concertino, which had to await publication until three years after Haug's death in 1970. It appeared in a facsimile edition under the auspices of Edizioni Musicali Bèrben. Alexandre Lagoya and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra played its world premiere.Hans Haug became acquainted with other guitarists such as Luise Walker at the Geneva Competition in 1956. As a result of this meeting, he wrote his Fantasia for Guitar and Piano (1957), which he dedicated to her. In 1963, his Capriccio for flute and guitar was written for the duo Werner Tripp and Konrad Ragossnig (released on RCA Victor 440.182). Also, Haug composed a Concerto for flute, guitar and orchestra in 1966, and he used the guitar in some other works.

It will be published in 18 volumes of 16 songs per volume, apart from volumes 17 and 18 containing respectively 21 and 19 melodies. The publication follows the alphabetical order of the song titles and it is based on the Greek Alphabet. The term demotic is used with referring to the rural musical tradition of Greece in order to differentiate it from urban traditions referred to as Laiko and/or Rebetiko song tradition. All three terms in fact refer to popular music either by anonymous or eponymous creators. All pieces are of an advanced intermediate level and each volume contains the same pieces twice, with and without tabs and various internal and external navigational links and can be viewed and/or printed as one or two books according to user's needs.
